The irony here is that nothing has changed. Management is still asking why everything takes so long.

The reason that things take a long time has never changed, AI or not. Things take a long time because things are complicated. And if you rush head long into complicated problems with poorly thought through solutions, they will take longer and longer and longer to implement.

All the old principles still apply. All the same consequences still accrue. The bigger the mess, the longer the time.

you know why people don't run their own servers? because a couple decades ago american ISPs said "no" to having a web server in your home, and it's been the same ever since. synology could've been the macintosh of the home server, instead we all use dropbox and web 2.0
