When you share a panel with people who have fought harder than most will ever understand and they still show up smiling. Rose Madat. Magongo Andrew. Meeting you was the highlight of this Conference . The resilience in this photo is real.

Proud to be a panelist at @CavendishUg for the Conference — "Refugees in Uganda's Universities: Asylum Status, Protection Challenges, and the Right to Education."
Today we are speaking directly about the barriers refugee students face in accessing and completing higher education in Uganda — and more importantly, what needs to change.
Thank you to Konrad Adenauer Stiftung for creating this space. These conversations matter.

This is the work. 45 RLO leaders walking away sharper on the legal frameworks that protect their communities — that is exactly what the movement needs. RELON is holding the line. 🔥

@US2SOMALIA Somalia is an independent and sovereign Nation, you have to change the language that you are using, you can advice and encourage but you can't order at all .
This is the kind of work that actually changes things on the ground.
RLO leaders who understand their legal rights are harder to ignore and harder to sideline. When you know the law you walk into rooms differently. You speak differently. You push back differently.
West Nile has some of the largest refugee settlements in Uganda and the RLOs there have been doing this work for years with almost no formal support. This training is long overdue and I am glad RELON is making it happen.
Keep going. The community deserves leaders who are equipped not just willing
We have kicked off a 3-day training in Refugee Rights for RLO leaders in West Nile region.
The training is designed to strengthen the capacity of RLO leaders by equipping them with a clear understanding of both international and national refugee legal frameworks.

Referrals save lives. Proper reporting protects children. Our team now knows how to do both. Two days of training with AWYAD and they came back stronger. This is what community protection looks like.
@AishaSalwe52589 and Afaf Ahmed
Energy poverty is one of the most overlooked issues in refugee settlements. People are cooking with charcoal, children are studying in the dark, small businesses cannot operate after sunset.
These are not small problems. They drain livelihoods, harm health and keep communities trapped.
The fact that RLOs are at the center of this conversation with GPA is what makes this different. We are not being consulted after decisions are made. We are part of shaping the solution from the beginning.
@relonuganda keep pushing. And make sure refugee voices stay at the table as this partnership moves forward.
We have today received a delegation from the Global Platform for Action (GPA).
This engagement aims to explore a strategic partnership that will enable RLOs to engage in scalable and sustainable energy solutions within the refugee communities.
