ThisIsntWorkingPodcast

The podcast for employers and employees who think it's time to talk about the failings of workplace culture - and how we can do better. Host: Tanya de Grunwald

How did HR get ‘trans inclusion’ so wrong? The reckoning starts today, as we expose deep ideological capture at the HR industry body @CIPD - and its CEO’s friendship with trans activist Katie Neeves. It’s a scandal (involving knickers & the police!) 🧵(1/3)

@RosieDuffield1 @Sorelle_Arduino That John Lewis thing was weird on so many levels. Looks like Niblett knows someone there. Quite the echo chamber ;)

[ThisIsntWorkingPodcast @IsntWorkingPod]

Ahah! The MP Samantha Niblett has confirmed she has a contact at @JohnLewisRetail - hence the store hosting her totally off-brand 'Summer of Sex' launch event last week.

None of this is normal.

And we stand by our statement that JLP is circling the drain.

@JamieWhistle @beechchap @nytimes @Psychgirl211 Hi Jamie, have had some thoughts on this too! Will email. Looking forward to speaking soon.

[ThisIsntWorkingPodcast @IsntWorkingPod]

@SVPhillimore What is EDB?

[ThisIsntWorkingPodcast @IsntWorkingPod]

@HeadWarriorTWM @jk_rowling @CIPD @Cheese_Peter No - the issue is that the ERA has turned out to be a gift to workshy and vexatious employees. Employers are saying the impact is immediate, and even worse than feared.

[ThisIsntWorkingPodcast @IsntWorkingPod]

Told you so! Businesses have made a LOT of mistakes on women's rights and single-sex spaces, but they're now leading the way on fixing them (albeit quietly). Great to know @jk_rowling sees the same trend. Let's hope public and charity sector orgs follow soon. This is getting embarrassing!

[ThisIsntWorkingPodcast @IsntWorkingPod]

The ERA25 is sucking up all their time and giving them a splitting headache. It's every employer's nightmare -huge holes in it, unintended consequences everywhere - and they're furious the @CIPD didn't advocate for them more robustly. @Cheese_Peter's mistake has become @CIPDNeil's problem.

@bicingboi Ha!

[ThisIsntWorkingPodcast @IsntWorkingPod]

Would love to know the demographic, political and soc/ec make-up of the team behind this ad. Suspect real diversity was sorely lacking.

[Europa.com @europa]

🇮🇪 The Irish state has published an advert discouraging grandparents from hugging their grandchildren, as part of a campaign designed to promote "consent".

[ThisIsntWorkingPodcast @IsntWorkingPod]

@HJoyceGender As with much 'DEI', this ad looks like the result of data-free decision making. 100% vibes, with no consideration of unintended consequences.

@HeadWarriorTWM @jowilliams293 Not that it's feminine to be cowardly, but can only think that's what you meant?

NEW EPISODE: Are Women To Blame For 'Woke' Workplaces?... starring @jowilliams293 - recorded at #BattleFest - drops TONIGHT at 7.15pm (UK) - Wednesday 21 October. Link ⬇️ See you shortly!

@HeadWarriorTWM @jowilliams293 Feminised men? You mean cowards?

[ThisIsntWorkingPodcast @IsntWorkingPod]

@miffythegamer @jowilliams293 Aww, so glad you enjoyed it!

[ThisIsntWorkingPodcast @IsntWorkingPod]

Yes! Blaming women for 'woke' lets men off the hook, and ignores the pre-existing conditions that let it take root, says @jowilliams293. Fun to re-watch this live recording from #BattleFest on Saturday! Link ⬇️
