This is the 90s standard. Where Jamaican real estate market is now. You can argue that it’s better to rent than own in developing parishes.

Even tho I’m excluded I see a lot a persons following this advice to buy a house and stuck with 300k mortgages with variable interest rates for the next 30 years and can’t even live because their mortgage/house is the biggest liability they have.

Watch the market, be wise and invest wisely. Nothing wrong with owning a 8M (100k/month ) car and living somewhere decent for under 250k per month than living in a house you can’t afford for 300k/month.

Things and times change, it’s not like it used to be.
