I am deeply saddened by the passing of Justice Ian Forte.
Justice Forte gave many years of service to Jamaica as Director of Public Prosecutions, Judge of the Court of Appeal, and President of the Court of Appeal. He served our country with dedication and played an important role in the administration of justice.
Today, we mourn the loss of a distinguished public servant, and Jamaican whose life was devoted to service.
My sincere condolences to our dear colleague, Member of Parliament Marlene Malahoo Forte, his children, family members, friends, and members of the legal fraternity as they grieve this great loss.
As we reflect on his life, we give thanks for his exceptional service to Jamaica and the contribution he made to our nation.
May he rest in peace.
@JamaicaObserver@jamp_jamaica I must have missed the concern expressed by National Integrity Action @niajamaica and/or its Executive Director Dr Gavin Myers @gavinmyaz that Opposition Leader and PNP President Mark Golding's 2024 Statutory Declaration has not yet been certified by the Integrity Commission.

Fitz Jackson demands an independent investigation into the activities of the FLA after the Integrity Commission failed to uncover any evidence of corruption.

@Truth_Rights39@Errolmcneil1 I have a permanent post. Not even if Mark Golding become Jamaica's first Head of State, he cannot remove me from my post.
My appointment is not a political one.
Now I see why the IC went to court for Judicial Review.
It is clear this report is nothing less than character assassination. Bo redaction, but conclusions are shady and scurrilous.
Should not have been tabled. Wrong move!!!
1/ 🚨The report is finally public.
After weeks of political tension, legal challenges, and intense public scrutiny, Parliament has tabled the Integrity Commission's comprehensive investigation into the Firearms Licensing Authority (FLA).
Spanning more than 70 pages, the report examines allegations of corruption, administrative impropriety, licensing irregularities, and troubling concerns surrounding the storage and accountability of firearms and ammunition entrusted to the State.
This is one of the most consequential examinations of Jamaica's firearms regulatory system in recent years.
@2Brushie Dennis Gordon is corrupt and must resign.
Under Portia he would have had to resign.
Do you agree or not.
Why is he still an MP.
Paying back stolen money does not make the right wrong.
Do you agree,
