@ianbremmer Your perspective on morality clearly doesn't put much weight on (foreseeable) consequences, then - even when those consequences are profound.
@Cincinnatus56@AliceFromQueens To my knowledge, only one person - a spurned lover who also happens to be a professional Republican operative - claimed to know that Platner knew what the tattoo was at the time.
@Dryssa4@hecubian_devil@DevilGalLau I think you underestimate how many ways the modern attention environment and modern ways of work amplify and exacerbate the impact of ADHD.
@hecubian_devil@DevilGalLau Eh, it's more just that we're ill-suited to life in modern society. All the things that can make it a disabling disorder would be almost non-issues in the pre-modern world.
@ActualAero@starsuper64 I mean, that's definitely not the case. They might care a bit less, but it still would have been a GOTY contender on all of its other merits. Also, you just can't achieve what they did visually with an anime art style, and I'm not just talking about realism per se.
@hecubian_devil Of course, some people are also just vindictive due to personal grievances or a sense of being victimized / criticized "unfairly" in the past.
@hecubian_devil I do wonder how much of it is driven by temperament and how much is driven by brand identity / audience capture. I feel like it's almost always some combination of the two, in addition to the zeitgeist that existed when the person first became conscious of their pet issues.
