Issa Bakari reflected on youth leadership, accountability, and the evolving conversation around menstrual justice in the region.
“We need intentional inclusion in menstrual health programming and must move beyond product distribution to address silence, misinformation, implementation gaps, policy enforcement, budgeting, stigma reduction, and dignity. Menstrual health programs must also be contextualized to include people with special needs and ensure no one is left behind.”
He further emphasized the importance of strengthening school retention, debunking myths, and creating systems that respond to the realities communities face.

Youth play a critical watchdog role in ensuring the government works for the people, not for itself. Oversight doesn’t mean confrontation; it means accountability, participation, and constructive engagement.

Today, I’m sharing a simple reminder: progress does not require perfection, only the courage to keep moving. Growth happens when we choose discipline over comfort and action over waiting. This message is for anyone committed to becoming better, one step at a time.
