Bari Weiss is pushing CBS News and #60Minutes toward a digital future, but some insiders say her leadership style has undermined her progress:
• Staffers describe Weiss as having a “very royal” or “very remote” demeanor
• She has not built close alliances with key talent or top producers and, unlike a typical TV news chief, is rarely seen around studios or control rooms
• “There was skepticism” when Weiss joined the company, one CBS News staffer says. “There was harm done to both sides. There was leaking, and so everybody retreated. Now Bari sits in new offices on the sixth floor and is rarely seen in the newsroom.”

New: I am told by a few sources that Lesley Stahl led a champagne toast for some '60 Minutes' staffers yesterday.
She told staff that David Ellison had called her and pledged that the show would be independent and also apologized for some of the recent turmoil and said things would get back on the right track.
I am told that one staffer did push back and note that Ellison had previously pledged editorial independence for the show when he first met with the team after acquiring Paramount...
