Most small business owners stop growing their businesses once they reach a certain size. Not because they quit trying, but because they don’t know how to get to the next level.

Gentlemen,
Christ did not design us to be islands unto ourselves. He did not design the family to be an island unto itself.
There has been a long-running psyop on Americans to see themselves as individuals first, to bootstrap, go it alone, and need no one.
We see it at every level of society:
-The 18-year-old who is expected to leave home and immediately become completely independent.
-The businessman celebrated as “self-made,” as though he built everything without family, community, mentors, employees, customers, or the generations before him.
-The family that is expected to function in isolation, with no meaningful dependence on extended family, church, or community.
But this is a recipe for disaster, particularly when you are trying to build something.
God has given us brothers and sisters to help us in the fight.
There is tremendous encouragement in discovering that you are not alone, and that there are, in fact, still 7,000 men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.
When you yoke yourself to a brother, you will often find that you don't merely double your output, effectiveness, and results.
You triple or quadruple them.
We were never meant to fight alone. We were meant to build, fight, and feast alongside our people.
The wolf pack will always defeat the lone wolf.
The crew will always out perform the individual.
Your enemies are in fellowship against you.
You must build a fellowship to defeat them.
God wills it.
Young Christian men: start building businesses now. Start the exact ones these firms are buying (they already did your market research for you). They only buy what a town can't live without:
- HVAC
- Plumbing
- Electrical
- Welding and fab
- Small engine repair
- Excavation
- Meat processing
- Honest bookkeeping
And everything they buy gets worse before it dies completely. Slower service, junk parts, higher prices. A solid, independent man with his name on the truck and a solid church behind him will eat their lunch.
Three rules to keep your town from being next.
1. Build it to keep it. If you're building to cash out someday, it's already theirs. Put your plans in writing, with papers that keep the business in the family and out of their hands.
2. Raise up your replacement. Sons in the shop at twelve. Real work, real wages, taught that the business is an inheritance and not just dad's job. JOANN didn't die at the bank. It died at the dinner table a generation earlier.
3. Stick together. One shop is a business. Twelve shops that hire each other, bank together, and train each other's sons are an economy. PE firms can buy a company. They can't buy a town that won't sell.
Over the next 10-15 years we'll all get to watch as these firms tear down the old world. This is your window to build. Start a shop at 25, and you will own your town's infrastructure at 40 - just when the husk of the competition finally falls over.
Build the businesses that will power your local community for the next hundred years.
