Thanks for the response, I understand your position. I think they’ll trick some people with a face of franchise like moneymaker. Makes them seem more legitimate to a passerby. Even moneymaker himself has said he doesn’t approve of these practices.
This does appear to be dying on the vine as most of those scammed have been paid and aren’t speaking out anymore. Hopefully I’m wrong though, because as I’ve said, the only possible way they act appropriately is from public shame and attention. Getting the word out to poker players from an account like yours would save some players in the future.
Every sportsbook kicks out winners but the difference is that every single sportsbook except Acr will pay you out before doing so. Take the bets, limit and kick out winners is fine, but don’t steal their deposits and winnings. Which is exactly what they’d continue doing had I not exposed them.
Sure, every book would love a world where they don’t pay out winners. But most books realize that everyone needs to trust they’ll be paid if they win. Lose that trust and no one plays with you. Well, everyone seems to understand with the exception of @WPN_CEO . Maybe they’ll understand it after this public humiliation of their INTENTIONAL business practices.
@Fade_snap@WPN_CEO The more I thought about it, I didn’t like how much energy I had to exert to have someone not steal my 92k and then lie through their teeth for his public statement + 2 hour elf space. If I didn’t do it, who knows how long this scammer would be scamming also. Could be years more
.@WPN_CEO just answer why you won’t put the poker rake to withdraw requirements up front in big bold lettering? Rather than hide it in terms and conditions?
The real reason is you now have an excuse to scam in the future. Because of this train wreck, you will cite this as reason for everyone to know it exists. The reality is people will sign up without having seeing these X posts and deposit thinking you run a sportsbook like quite literally every other sportsbook on planet earth.
Bad beat for them when they find out after the fact that you successfully scammed them into playing 1/2 with your bots and regs for 200 hours!
Run a sportsbook or don’t. If you don’t know what’s acceptable practices, hire a consultant to tell you when you have your head up your ass. Figure it out man.
At this point, our expectations of you are quite low, basically the only ask is to disclose your scam condition, not even remove it. Then we shut up as long as you pay your future debts.
@ItalianIceDegen Phil puts on quite the front. He pretends he wants people to know the info he's hiding: "How do I make them read the terms?!"
He obviously could put the info in a convenient spot. His choice not to proves he doesn't truly want people to know that info.
One of Phil's many fronts.
I was happy to be paid but let’s not forget a few things. Almost every single thing he said in the post below was a lie. He intentionally chose to steal 92k from me and was forced to pay it back only after substantial public shame, humiliation, and brand damage. I had to put in quite a bit of work to make sure he was unable to steal that 92k. Thankfully, everyone else who was stiffed is also getting paid.
Does that payout process also carry over to tournament poker? If you bink a big one, will you be able to get your money out easily? Who knows. Maybe.
Hopefully Phillip has learned that when you’re rich and old, a few numbers on a screen are relatively inconsequential to your life. The pain associated with getting labeled a scammer and stiff is much worse. Pay your debts Phillip. Look for reasons to pay, not reasons not to pay.
Unfortunately it appears he will not be explicitly disclosing the rake requirements to sportsbettors before they deposit and bet on his site. He will continue to hide them in the terms and conditions so it appears nothing will be changing.
The next sucker that signs up for his sportsbook and wins will be punished and potentially lose their winnings to poker players before being able to withdraw. It’s progress from being a full blown stiff, but still a massively predatory practice that is not even remotely close to industry standards. No mini Twix bites for you Phillip! (Phillip was rewarding himself with tiny bites of mini Twix when he made a good poker play on his poker stream).
Phillip, I was listening to some of your inspirational chatter on your live stream, anything you put your mind to, you can do! Take your own advice and life will be better.
🧊 🧊 🧊 out
I've been following the discussion around ACR's sportsbook and withdrawals, and I want to clear up several things directly.
First, ACR does not have a liquidity problem. We have a long history of paying our players, and nothing about this situation changes that.
ACR is, first and foremost, a poker company. Sportsbook, Casino and our other products are secondary services we offer to our poker customers.
For a long time, ACR has required players to generate poker rake equal to 10% of their deposits before withdrawing. That requirement exists in part because we're a poker-first business, and it also helps prevent our platform from being used simply as a vehicle for moving money in and immediately back out.
After experiencing significant coordinated professional sportsbook activity, including organized betting syndicates using ACR primarily as a standalone sportsbook, we extended that requirement across our auxiliary products.
I also need to acknowledge where we got this wrong in the case currently being discussed.
Some of our Customer Service representatives misunderstood how the requirement should be calculated and gave the player an incorrect figure based on his sportsbook winnings.
That was wrong.
The requirement is based on 10% of the player's deposits — not 10% of his winnings.
I apologize to the player for the incorrect information and the confusion our communication caused. That's on us, and we're addressing it internally so our teams communicate this policy clearly and consistently going forward.
What has never been communicated to this player is that ACR will not pay him.
We will.
The same published requirement applies here: the player must generate poker rake equal to 10% of the applicable deposit amount. Once that requirement and our normal account requirements are satisfied, his withdrawal can be processed.
We understand that some people may disagree with that policy. That's fair. But disagreement with a withdrawal requirement is very different from ACR being unable or unwilling to pay its players.
We're also reviewing the wording across our Terms & Conditions, help materials and Customer Service procedures so that there is no ambiguity about what is required, how it is calculated or when it applies.
We should have communicated this particular case better from the beginning, and I apologize for that.
But to be absolutely clear: this is not a liquidity issue, and ACR is not refusing to pay this player.
Phil Nagy CEO, ACR Poker
@fullcardparlay@WPN_CEO Something that doesn’t exist anywhere else, excessive effort to complete (even 10% of deposits could take 100s of hours of a skill game you’d get wrecked in), not upfront about this totally unique and widely regarded as a scam term existing = scam imo
@BencomoPablo@ToddWitteles Dm elf the specifics of your situation and he’ll take a look at it to see if he can escalate. I tried to dm you but your DMs are off.
You want to hear the funny part. I sent them an email 3 days before it dropped walking through the exact steps of what would happen. The tweet goes viral. I go on elf show. I already spoke to multiple big accounts explaining the situation and they all agreed it would explode. I told them every word of that before it happened. They told me to fuck off. I even offered to pay 3k to not have to go through this public ordeal. Shoulda listened to me and took my deal.
Glad all this bullshit is over and I got paid. I don’t want to micromanage everyone’s getting paid but I do believe @WPN_CEO has learned that stiffing all sharps is not an effective risk management strategy in 2026 with social media existing. The most generational business model ever created almost worked. Bad beat for them.
Reach out to me in a few weeks if you still haven’t been paid and I will see if I can reach out. Try some other avenues first. I’d like to be done with this topic and focus on other things so I won’t be responding for now. Don’t take it personally if I ignore you. I’ve been ruminating on this for a week since I found out about the stiff. I want to put it behind me. Thanks for all the support, hopefully I got the ball moving in the right direction and everyone gets paid.
@NOTspecial9119@alexandrabotez@WPN_CEO It’s not going to be worth the effort for many people to pursue independently. You only heard from me because 92k was a good chunk to me + I knew I had connections to get the word out. You change either of those variables, and I’m probably as silent as the others.
