Well, thank you, Flirty for the heart attack. She got into some sugar free gum and ate an unknown quantity- perhaps as much as 15 pieces. Sugar free gum with xylitol in it.

So I called her vet office in a panic, not knowing if it is as bad for horses as it is for dogs.

I did the only responsible thing I could and bought the candy bar, even though I wouldn’t normally eat it, due to her touching it. We will be doing some training review on leaving products at the store alone, especially in the checkout aisle!

Today, Flirty reminded me that service animals aren’t robots and sometimes they need a brush up on manners/training. She bumped a candy bar off the display at checkout at the grocery store. I was busy checking out, so I didn’t notice it until it was too late.
