While I’m not a Sea of Thieves Partner, I can still make my stance clear. I’m appalled by how this situation has been handled by the Community Management team at @RareLtd.

I want an official statement from @SeaOfThieves, and I want accountability and meaningful action taken against those on the CM & Mod team who overlooked/ignored the previous evidence, removed messages raising concerns, and elevated individuals into Boatswain positions despite prior warning signs, and in some cases, even defended Bruno after these concerns were raised.

Until that happens, I’m taking a step back from #SeaOfThieves

Controversy has erupted in the Sea of Thieves community after a player awarded a prestigious role by devs was accused of misconduct with minors

Many members of the game's partner program have quit and called for an explanation from Rare

I have involved myself in the #SeaofThieves community for eight years now... I've done everything from SoT Shot, to BMP, to random tournaments with the Affiliate Alliance. However, I've never really closely associated with many of the prominent members of those communities because something has always felt "off".

In light of the recent events and the whole Bruno situation, I can see why I felt that. When I first heard about all this drama and all these "protected individuals", it didn't come as a surprise whatsoever.

For years, I've known fully well that Rare is a favoritism-heavy company who picks individuals out and protects them from everyone else. We first saw this with Captain AshBacon at the very beginning of the Arena. So many accounts of loyal players have gone to shit because of one Boatswain or SoT partner that got a little too upset.

It really is sad to see the game I loved so dearly go out with the most possible fireworks, with the drama reaching far out of the SoT community by now. This is by far the worst PR the game has ever gotten and a statement at this point will be meaningless.

A full overhaul of EVERYTHING is the only way out for Rare, and it would need to be perfectly executed to a tee. First we need to #firej0toro , as well as phasing out MopWeildingHedgehog from the CMs. Known pedophile Anja also needs to be given the Bruno treatment. Once all that is said and done, the Boatswain program as a whole needs to be dismantled, as well as a full rework of the Partner Program.

Unless @RareLtd executes this perfectly (which has never happened in a decade of SoT), the game and it's associated community is gone.
