Things have not been going well in Ranthambore over the past one year. All of this does not come out in the open, but in Ranthambore India’s largest centre of tiger tourism the focus is more on tiger tourism than on tiger monitoring. Rules are being broken here the way ordinary people break rules in public places.
In the past one year, some tigers and tigresses have gone missing. The officials have no answers for this. The sole objective seems to be that the tigers and tigresses near the lakes should remain visible to tourists so that tourism continues as usual.
Within the past one year, there is no trace of Riddhi’s daughter RBT-2504 or of RBT-2510. There is also no detail about the previous litter of T-125. Out of those three cubs, one was already killed by a male tiger earlier; there is no information about the remaining two cubs. The cubs of T-94 are also missing. These incidents clearly indicate that the situation is not under control.
The officials here are not concerned about any of this. These officers and staff have still not been able to control the situation in which people are paying ₹30,000 for a gypsy that is officially charged at ₹9,000. Where is the additional ₹21,000 going? I am saying this with full responsibility.
