It amazes me the amount of people on this app that think Vonn’s torn ACL caused her to crash. It did not. It was her right pole, clipping the gate. Which caused her ARM to be out of position, twisting her torso mid air, she became unbalanced and that led to the crash. Incredibly bad luck as she was fully going for it on her run. Just cut it a few centimeters too close on that gate and failed. 1. This particular type of crash wasn’t predictable. (Although it is eerie that she was wearing number 13 on her bib.) 2. It wasn’t selfish of her to race. She earned the spot, she completed two training runs and was 3rd overall yesterday with a real chance to medal. 3. And it was not unusual. Crashes happen in Alpine skiing. Every Olympics. Every race on the World Cup circuit. It’s part of the nature of the sport. Again, the cause had nothing to do with her ACL. By the way, one of the first skiers in yesterday’s men’s downhill also competed with a torn ACL. Didn’t win but made it down the mountain. Only difference was his wasn’t as recent or newsworthy of an injury. Part of what made her a champion in so many races was her aggressiveness. It didn’t work out today. That’s it. Why people are vilifying her I will never understand.

Mayor Bass, Governor Newsom, City and State Officials and agencies conspired in a COVER-UP in the Pacific Palisades Fire… to avoid political fallout & massive litigation. Former Fire Chief Rick Crawford confirms a total cover-up in the Palisades Fire after-action review. The LA Times printed as close to a confirmation as possible. Let’s be clear - 1) Mayor Bass erased 100% of her texts for January 2025. 2) Newsome has NO RESPONSIVE Pacific Palisades communication. None. 3) The After Action report was rigged. 4) LADWP changed records and made incorrect public statements about when power lines in the area were de-energized (i.e., shut off). The City of Los Angeles is now suing the State of California. And they called the fire victims “opportunists,” “profiteers,” and “conspiracy theorists.” Newsom. Bass. LAFD. LADWP. Lied. Gaslit. Misdirected. Covered up. Mayor Karen Bass. Obstruction of Justice. Our Mayor erased ALL emails from January 2025. She then changed and withheld details in the LAFD After-Action report (according to the LA Times). Obstruction of justice is a criminal offense that occurs when someone intentionally interferes with the legal process in a way that prevents law enforcement, prosecutors, regulators, or courts from carrying out their duties. In this case, we have a Mayor, elected by the people, with a duty to the people to honestly diagnose what caused a massive human tragedy. A Governor with fire that started on state ground due to bad policy. 12 souls lost their lives in Palisades alone. 6,500 homes burned… thousands more unlivable. 25,000 displaced, economically or emotionally destroyed. We want the texts. We want full discovery in this case. And… we want (at the very least) new leadership. Mayor Bass is running for Mayor again. Governor Newsom is running for President. They accept no fault. They learned nothing. This will happen again. It could happen to YOU. Your town. Your community. This is diabolical.
