Today, the 10th of August 2026, our election cycle formally opens and the clock begins its steady walk toward August 10, 2027. Three hundred and sixty-five days remain.

I joined the Kenya Clergy Alliance and Kitui County clergy leadership at KEFRI grounds for a Prayer Day marking this milestone, alongside Co-Principals Speaker JB Muturi and Hon. Eugene Wamalwa, Kitui Governor Dr Julius Malombe, Woman Rep Dr Irene Kasalu, Kitui Central MP Dr Makali Mulu, Kitui Rural MP Esther Nyenze, Mavoko MP Patrick Makau, and other leaders.

Together we said it loudly: let Ruto count the days left, for we shall count them too; not with anxiety, but with the quiet, gathering confidence of a people who know their hour is near. WANTAM.

We also had a message for IEBC Chairman Erastus Edung Ethekon and the Commission he leads: guarantee this election, free and fair, on August 10, 2027. The referee must be impartial, or the people will have no faith in the process.

For the next 365 days, we mobilise and organise, county by county, ward by ward, until this movement becomes unstoppable. And three hundred and sixty-five days from today, wazalendo wenzangu, we shall vote Ruto out at the ballot. Together, we shall Komboa Kenya.

This morning at Divine International Word Outreach in Industrial Area, Nairobi, Pastor Ruth Hillary took us through Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." It's a word our nation needs right now, especially for young Kenyans who feel abandoned and unsure of what tomorrow holds.

Our children are crying out. They are educated, capable, ready to work, yet too many have no opportunity. And when they raise their voices to demand a better Kenya, they are met with intimidation and, too often, violence. This cannot define us. A country that loses the confidence of its youth risks losing its future.

We will stand firm, peacefully and lawfully, for our rights. The right to demonstrate is guaranteed, and no Kenyan should be threatened for exercising it. The will of the people must be respected, the next election must be free and fair.

As we continue this fight for the liberation of Kenya, I pray God restores hope to our young people, opens doors for them, and grants our nation the peace and justice we are due.
