And from my experience some people who spawn further away than you from the chopper but want it too, they shoot it with RPG instead of letting you get it.

If you originally spawn as like a support class but then pick up engineer kit and do damage then, it will NOT count as the game doesn't register you as engineer (which you have to be for this challenge).
