A key takeaway form this course is that technology can help create relationships. There is the stigma that technology destroys relationships but it is only true of technology is used in the wrong way. If used correctly technology can be a very powerful tool. #DCIM353c
I believe that smartphones will increase in popularity with companies. Companies such as Uber and Lyft rely on smartphones to connect with their drivers and maintain control. Companies will start adopting technology to replace more manual aspects of jobs. #DCIM353c
@RU_DianeB I agree. These issues that the speakers bring up are all new to me. It helps provide me a new perspective on the technology industry and the problems that people are fighting to resolve. #DCIM353c
@VecchiaMegan I agree. It really opened my eyes to e problems that Google tried to hide. It has persuaded me to think more before trusting everything a company claims. #DCIM353c
I am surprised to learn how the workers are controlled through technology. The length that companies go through to control every aspect of workers isn’t justified. Companies should have a certain degree of trust in their employees and discern what is too much. #DCIM353c
The #GoogleWalkout surprised me by showing the corruption behind Google. I didn’t know that the company had such issues behind their public reputation. I was also surprised to learn how workers have to power to ban together and forcibly change a company for the better. #DCIM353c
@EishaPascual I agree. People normally think that technology lessens the likelihood of face-to-face interactions but research shows that it isn’t true. Reading into the topic will help prevent confusion at the time of the exam. #DCIM353c
@joe_sclafani36 I agree. Children are receiving technology at an earlier age now. We are part of the generation where this change is occurring is definitely an important topic to know about for the exam. #DCIM353c
@jason_petrides I agree. Digital activism is a topic that isn’t common knowledge for too many people. Reading up on the subject would be useful preparing for the example. #DCIM353c
Something I think will be on the exam is the difference between data privacy and data obscurity. These two concepts can become easily confused with each other. #DCIM353c
The show has a heavy emphasis on rating and the opinion of others. I think this is going on currently as ratings have become more important to one's self-image. People are able to see other's ratings and does not give people a chance to truly know someone. #DCIM353c
@bennnf55 I also think that music is very important. I have music playing everywhere I go. Music allows me to just enjoy the time spent traveling between classes.
@AlexCampagna4 I am also into the sneaker culture. I find many of the newly released sneakers to be very well designed. I have a couple pairs of nice-looking sneakers for when I dress up.
@RU_JenAmada I think spending time with others is important too. It allows one to spend some time relaxing. I also have a dog too and I find him fun to spend time with.
My academic/professional identity would potentially be chemistry. I have taken many semesters of chemistry and it would likely be the major I will be pursuing. #TXC19
My personal identity/interest would be sports. I spend a lot of my time playing basketball with my friends at Rutger's gyms. I also participated in trend and field during my years in high school. #DCIM353c#TXC19
My best tip for thriving at Rutgers University is to spend time periodically at the library. This allows students to sit down and spend some time to study. This is essential in order to properly succeed in one's courses. #DCIM353c#txc19
@grossman_zach I find your picture hilarious. When seeing the picture I imagine the hordes of people trying to catch a bus during exam week 😅😂 #DCIM353c#txc19
