Operation DARKNESS DEFEATED has launched!๐
Today weโre announcing a special fundraising campaign to help our defenders with night vision devices and night vision goggles! Our ambitious goal is 30,000 USD.
@elmustek@T_90AK Can you give me an example of 'speed over protection' being used on the frontline? The average off-road speed of a BMP 2 is 45 km/h. Could you please find a video where any other vehicle exceeds this speed while being used on the frontline?
@Rebel44CZ@SithPolska@AndrewPerpetua@justincbzz On the other hand, defending any and all Ukrainian territory serves no strategic objective outside of being emotionally important. Only tacticaly advantageous positions within Ukraine are important in the context of attriotional warfare. Stretching the frontline is more important
@Rebel44CZ@SithPolska@AndrewPerpetua@justincbzz it's clear as day that these attacks are not meant to acquire territory, but rather to stretch the frontline. With the current meta the longest possible frontline is beneficial for Ukraine, which is why they will keep attacking on every possible stretch of land.
@AndrewPerpetua@Fuckelmotoo@Dashersdad isn't that an equivalent of saying there won't be a NATO-RU war? EU can chose to sarifice the Baltics+Finland or Nuke RU. First option would lead to RU marching to Paris, which leads to second option. Even if EU refuses to defend itself, US won't let Russia do it, so nuke
@AndrewPerpetua@Fuckelmotoo@Dashersdad I think it would be very differnt, full blockade for all Russian ships and aircraft, absolute NATO dominance over entirety of RU, frontline stretching across entire Europe, I fail to see how this can be an attrional war. RU can either nuke or get destroyed within a year.
@AndrewPerpetua@Fuckelmotoo@Dashersdad Can you elaborate on how you see this NATO-Russia war unfolding, maybe in a seperate post if you don't want to respond to me directly. You make cryptic allusions to it all the time yet it's difficult to see the whole picture as an uneducated observer.
@AndrewPerpetua@Fuckelmotoo@Dashersdad Ther is no reason to nuke any Ukrainian cities, if Ukrainian tactical aviation would be bombing Moscow daily into the stone age, all Ukrainian cities would be nuked. And in the event of a NATO-Russia all major Russian cities would be bombed daily.
@AndrewPerpetua@Fuckelmotoo@Dashersdad I don't understand why youre just repeating the same thing? Even when Ukraine returns to 1991 borders it won't be the end for Russia. An actual hot war with NATO can't end at status quo, it would be a total war for destruction and invetiably escalate to nukes. What other options?
@AndrewPerpetua@Fuckelmotoo@Dashersdad Ukraine dsnt have nukes, Russia isn't currently existentially threatened by Ukraine to use nukes and deal with all the risk and consequences that it will lead to. In an actual hot war between NATO and Russia how would any side win? Russian reach Warsaw, get nuked. Same for Moscow
@AndrewPerpetua@Fuckelmotoo@Dashersdad How do you see a realistic scenario of an attritional conflict between EU and Russia? What would be the factors preventing everyone from nuking each other? How would such a conflict end without nuclear warfare?
I am genuinely interested in your perspective on this.
@AndrewPerpetua@Fuckelmotoo@Dashersdad Ukraine is a really isolated case not applicable to the wider world. It's an artificially constrained scenario where both sides are limited by external and internal forces from fully comitting to the war and are instead stuck in a stalemate hoping to outlast each other.
@AndrewPerpetua@Fuckelmotoo@Dashersdad Any Russian attempts to push into Poland and further will result in nuclear war. It remains to be seen whether NATO is willing to commit to nuclear defence of the Baltics. An attrional war between Russia and NATO is not possible iny any scenario. It will be a quick win or lose
@AndrewPerpetua@Fuckelmotoo@Dashersdad I really respect your analysis, but I think you're getting it wrong about the likelihood of EU-Russia war. The only realistic scenario is a limited infantry incursion into the Baltics to test NATO result, which might escalate into a month or two of combat in a limited area.
