🚨 DON'T FORGET!

Aug 23–30: For 7 days, KEEP YOUR PLAYSTATION OFF! 🎮⬛
Stay off PSN. Don't buy anything from Sony. 💿

We're not against digital. We're fighting for choice and physical games!

I am participating in #PSBlackout

I play my Ps3, Ps4, Ps5, Vita & PsVR regularly. I'm addicted to trophies and my playstation consoles, I usually buy multiple games a week. But even for someone as deep in the PS family of systems as me, enough is enough.

Day 1 of the #PSBlackout in the books!

Quick update: The previously mentioned date (August 23 - 30) is a minimum requirement. Makes it easier for more people to join. EVERYONE IS ENCOURAGED TO GO INDEFINITELY until Sony change course! Pedal to the metal or we won't get anywhere!

LET’S NOT PLAY ON PLAYSTATION FOR ONE WEEK. 🎮

Starting tomorrow, August 23 through August 30, let’s support the #PSBlackout campaign.

So for one week:
❌ Don’t play on PlayStation
❌ Don’t buy games
❌ Don’t make in-game purchases
❌ Skip PS Store purchases
❌ Skip logins & purchases
❌ Cancel/avoid subscriptions if you can
📀 Support physical games & preservation

The goal isn’t to hurt developers. It’s to send Sony a clear message:

Gamers still want the choice to own their games.

If you support physical media, join the #PSBlackout from August 23–30.

Would you participate? 👇

Sony is moving new PlayStation releases toward digital-only or code-in-box formats after January 2028.

This isn’t just about discs. It’s about ownership, preservation and access.

If a digital store shuts down one day, what happens to the games you paid for?

Some gamers are even considering Switch 2 or PC as alternatives for long-term ownership.

No PlayStation. No Sony game purchases. No in-game spending. August 23–30.

Would you join the #PSBlackout? 🔥

[nope @pstone1984]

Dear @Sony

This PlayStation 5 was the last console I’ll ever purchase from you.

I have been loyal since PS1.

Loyalty means nothing to you so it ends here.

My next gaming system will be a pc.

Also fuck you.

❌ PS Blockout kicks off today — a week-long boycott of the PlayStation ecosystem protesting the "death" of physical discs

Starting at 7 PM local time, gamers will turn off their consoles and stay out of PlayStation Network until August 30. No games, no purchases, no visits to the PS Store.

Most importantly, no digital purchases, including PS Plus renewals.

Will it work?

🎮❌ Le #PSBLACKOUT est officiellement lancé pour cette semaine !

👉 Si vous comptez y participer, vous ne DEVEZ PLUS utiliser votre PlayStation jusqu’à LUNDI PROCHAIN…

‼️ The PSBlackout protest officially begins today.

Some PlayStation fans around the world are committing to:

- Not logging in
- Not playing for 7+ days
- Not spending money on digital games

The goal is to push back against an all-digital future and stand up for physical media. They hope Sony listens to them.

Big kudos to everyone taking part! 📀
