The images of Gabby in tears w/ the officers will haunt me for years to come. To think if they had seen the signs of abuse she was exhibiting she might be alive is heartbreaking. We need to do better. Praying for her family 💔 #GABBYPETITO
A 67 year old amputee & wheelchair user lived with his son who had cerebral palsy
They were killed in Eaton fire while waiting for an ambulance that never came
Many disabled people can’t evacuate on their own. They need to be included in evacuation plans (yet almost never are)
💔 The tragic loss of Anthony Mitchell, a wheelchair user and his son Justin, who had CP and no mobility aid, during the LA wildfires highlights deadly gaps in disaster planning for Disabled.
We must ensure inclusive preparedness to save lives.

@MattMcGorry Yes! Given that if the disabled population voted at the same rate as the non disabled population we would have 2 million more votes in elections. If we can’t find a way to include this community we are literally throwing votes out the window. 2 million.
@HimymCraig I appreciate that every day leading up to this I have seen you sharing this video in my Twitter feed. Thank you. It takes more than those in the disability community and us parent members to get it done. I hope we gain more allies than we have lost.
Just listened to a woman say we are so used to instant gratification we tend to forget that movements can take a long time. Women’s suffrage didn’t happen in 100 days, or even in 8 years. It took 80, formally. And that was just to vote. So be not discouraged. Our time is coming.
If you requested a mail in ballot but it never showed up you can still go vote, you just ask for a provisional ballot and fill out a short form. It happened to me one year, and it was just as quick. 🗳️🇺🇸 #HarrisWalz2024#Election2024

Halloween memory:
When I was a little girl, my first year of grade school I had a TON of behavioral issues. Now know it was ADHD but also, I was a little shit.
Second grade rolled around. My teacher was Sherry Hyslop. And Mrs. Hyslop, I thought, hung the moon.
