On November 20, 1933 Karl Barth wrote a long, strongly-worded letter to Dietrich Bonhoeffer about Bonhoeffer’s recent move from Berlin to London to assume a pastorate in a German-speaking congregation. 1/15
@Ethanolfuel1 @janeelisabethh You doin okay, man? Seems like you’ve experienced a lot of hurt from the Church. Praying you find reconciliation with Jesus in that.
I would still be able to articulate a defense of complementarianism, but I’m no longer in that camp. I know many people are working through their own questions on the subject, so I thought I’d share some of what led me to change my view.
Dear @simonschuster, as a Bonhoeffer & Holocaust scholar, I am outraged by your decision to re-issue 'Discipleship' with a foreword by Eric Metaxas. EM represents the v. opposite of all that DB stood for. Pls recall, re-issue with a foreword by a more appropriate scholar
Today, as vain little men make war over kingdoms built on sand, I am reminded of these words in Psalm 2: “I have installed my King on Zion, my holy Mountain.”
Do not fear. He doesn’t fall off of His throne.
I don't know the Jesus some have paraded and waved around in the middle of this treachery today. They may be acting in the name of some other Jesus but that's not Jesus of the Gospels.
