@hrw has documented civilian killings, forced recruitment, arbitrary detention and mass displacement involving Rwandan forces in eastern Congo.

In March 2026, the United States sanctioned Rwanda’s military and four senior officers for supporting the M23 rebellion.

3️⃣ Sexual violence and rape

4️⃣Forced recruitment of children

5️⃣Indiscriminate attacks on populated areas
