おでこの広い人は頭が良いと言われている。
自分はおでこが広いので、そうなのだろうと思っていた。
でも、逆の言い方をするとおでこの狭い人は頭が悪いとなる。
本当にそうだろうか。
実際にはおでこの広さと頭の良さは関係しないだろう。

おでこが広くて頭の悪い人、おでこが狭くて頭の良い人がいる。
ただ、おでこが広い人は頭がよさそうに見えることは事実だ。
子供の頃は大人の人から良く「おでこが広いから君は頭が良い」と言われた。
だから、自分は頭が良いと思っていた。
でも、大人になって良く分かった。僕の頭が良いと言った大人は頭が悪かったということを。

People with wide foreheads are said to be intelligent.
Since my forehead is wide, I thought it must be true.
Conversely, this implies that people with narrow foreheads are not intelligent.
But is that really the case?
In reality, there is no relationship between forehead width and intelligence.
There are people with wide foreheads who aren't intelligent, and people with narrow foreheads who are intelligent.
However, it's true that people with wide foreheads often look intelligent.
When I was a child, adults often told me, "You have a wide forehead, so you must be intelligent."
So, I thought I was intelligent.
But as I grew up, I realized that the adults who said that weren't intelligent themselves.

職場で書いた文書を家に持ち帰る方法の種明かしです。
メールでもなく、USBも使わない方法です。
ズバリそれはレンタルサーバーに文書を保存するという方法です。

レンタルサーバー上に文書を保存するプログラムをphp言語で書いたのです。
文書をファイルに保存するプログラムなんてとっても簡単です。
file_put_contents("保存する文章");の一文で可能です。
これで、ブラウザでこのサイトを表示して中のテキストボックスに文書をコピペして送信するだけです。
問題はブラウザからサーバーに送信するときに読まれる可能性があるということです。
これを排除するために、ブラウザからサーバーに送信する前に内容を暗号化することにしました。
どうでも良い話をしてゴメン。

This is a disclosure of how to bring back documents I write at the firm to my home without using email or USB.
Speak out, that is, to preserve the document to the rented server.
I wrote a program in PHP that can save the document to the rented server.
It is very easy to write for saving the document.
One sentence like file_put_contents("content"); enables it.
All you need to do is display this web page, write the document, copy and paste it, and submit it.
The only concern is that when you submit it from the browser to the server, it may be readable.
To avoid this, before submitting to the server, I decided to encrypt the contents.
Sorry to talk about something that doesn't matter.

ハロートークを結構使っているが、メインはタイムラインへの投稿だ。
他の目的には使っていないので、タイムラインの投稿の閲覧数は少ない。
まあ、せっかく投稿するのだから、閲覧数は多い方が良いのは当たり前だ。

で、閲覧数は投稿時間とどのような関係があるのか興味がわいてきたので、集計してみた。
投稿時間を記載している投稿６０件ほどを集計してみた。
投稿時間は６時台から２１時台までであった。
結果は図のとおりとなった。
全データのグラフは図１である。
これでは分かりにくいので１時間単位あたりにしてみたのが図２だ。
これのデータが図３．。
１件あたりで一番多いのは６時台。
ところが一番少ないのは７時台で６時と近似した時間帯だった。
だから、たまたまかもしれないが、面白いのでこれからも集計したい。

I often use HelloTalk, mainly using the "timeline" feature.
Since I don't use it for other purposes, the number of views on my timeline is not very high.
However, since I'm posting this, it would be better if more people saw it.
I started to wonder if there is a relationship between the number of views and the posting time, so I decided to tally it up.
I recorded the posting times of about 60 of my posts.
These ranged from 6 AM to 9 PM.
The results are shown in Figure.
Since the data in Figure 1 seems hard to understand, I created Figure 2 to indicate the data per hour.
This data is shown in Figure
The highest number of views per post is at 6 AM, while the lowest is at 7 AM, which is very close to 6 AM.
This might be a coincidence, but since I find it interesting, I will continue to tally the data going forward.

今、英語の勉強中で一生懸命日記を書いています。
で、そろそろネタが尽きてきたのでどうでも良い話をします。
実は、このhellotalkに投稿する文書の原案を勤務中に上司の目を盗んで書いています。

書くことはできるのですが、書いた文書を自分の家に持っていく方法が難しいという話です。
なぜなら、職場のパソコンはセキュリティ確保のためにUSBが使えないので、USBに入れて持ち出すことはできないからです。
それでは、メールで送れば良いとお思いになるかも知れませんが、メールだとサーバー管理者に見られてしまいます。
そこで、考えたとっておきの方法があります。
それは、何だと思いますか？。
紙で印刷して持ち帰るというのではありません。
そんなアナログな方法は使いません。
次回の投稿で種明かしをしたいと思います。

Nowadays, I am learning English, so I concentrate on writing a diary.
Since I'm running out of topics, I write about trivial things.
To be honest, while stealing my boss's attention, I am drafting documents at work to post on HelloTalk.
The challenge is that I can write the documents, but it's hard to bring them home.
The office PC has no USB ports due to security, so we can't use USB drives to take documents home.
You might think I could email the documents, but the server administrator can read those emails.
Then, I came up with a very good method.
Do you know what it is?
It’s not printing them on paper.
I don’t use such an analog method.

家庭菜園でアスパラが取れ始めた。
アスパラの苗の寿命は１０年程度と言われているが、我が家のアスパラは植えてからもう２０年以上経っている。
さすがに最近は収穫量は減ってはきているが、まだまだ大丈夫そうで頼もしい。

取れたての味を満喫するためには、調理法はゆでることだ。
決して炒めてはならない。

In my family garden, asparagus has begun to be harvested.
Although its lifespan seems to be about 10 years, our asparagus has been growing for over 20 years since it was planted.
The harvest is diminishing, but it still seems healthy and reliable.
The taste of freshly harvested asparagus is great.
To fully enjoy its flavor, we should boil it.
Never fry it.

青森では有名なねぶたまつりが８月２日からスタートする。
今年はそれを見に行きたいと思っていた。
それで、旅行の計画を立てようと、宿の空きを見てみたところ、残念ながら、全てのホテルが埋まっていた。

青森以南に行くのは、この時期では暑すぎる。

I screwed up.
In Aomori Prefecture, the famous Nebuta Festival begins on August 2nd.
I had been thinking about going to see it.
I wanted to plan the trip and checked the availability of hotels, but unfortunately, all the hotels were occupied.
There are not many people living in Aomori Prefecture, and there are also not many hotels.
I knew this but forgot.
In this season, it is too hot when we go south of Aomori.
We are wondering where to go for a trip.

今日、妻と話をしていて驚いた。
妻は何と言ったと思う？。
バナナが臭いと言ったのだ。
そんな馬鹿な話はない。

文字通り、「そんなバナナ」だ。（これは日本人しか分からないと思う。バナナは「ばかな」と発音が似ているため「そんな馬鹿な」という意味。）
バナナが臭いはずはない。
そう思ってバナナのにおいをかいだが、やはり匂わない。
妻も、もう一度においをかいていたがやはり臭いという。
そういえば、私は、ドリアンの匂いも分からない。
何も匂わないのだ。
教えて欲しい、本当にバナナは臭いのか？。

Today, I was very surprised when I talked with my wife.
Do you know what she said.
She said bananas smell bad.
I think it’s "SONNAMANANA" (This phrase is only understandable to Japanese speakers, the pronunciation of "bananas" is similar to the expression "BAKANA" (stupid), so it means "it’s impossible").
Bananas should not smell bad.
Thinking this, I tried to smell a banana, but I smelled nothing.
My wife smelled it again and still said it had a bad scent.
Come to think of it, I can't even smell durian.
They don’t smell like anything to me.
I want to know if bananas really smell bad.

子供の家のトイレの流れが悪い。
冬の間は工事はできないので、春になるまで待っていた。
ようやく業者に来てもらい工事をすることになった。
複数の業者から見積もりをもらうことは大事だ。

最初の業者は１００万円と言っていたが、次に頼んだ業者は２０万円と言ったらしい。
最初の業者は全くやる気がなかったようで高くふっかけてきたようだ。
工事費は結構安く済んだが、半額程度を援助することにした。

During the winter, we couldn't do the construction, so we waited for spring.
Finally, the vendor came and began the construction.
It is important to get estimates from many vendors.
The first vendor estimated 1 million yen, while the next vendor was 200,000 yen.
Since the first vendor didn't seem willing to do the construction, they estimated a higher price.
Even though he could save on the construction cost, I decided to cover half of the fee.

テレビではクマの話で持ち切りだ。
山菜シーズンとなってきたので、クマの話題は需要があるのだろう。
熊に出くわしたときは、決して背中を見せてすぐに逃げてはいけないらしい。
熊は逃げる者を追う習性があるからだ。

っこの理屈は良くわかるが、クマに出くわしたときに取る態度で、私が気になったことがひとつある。
いざ、襲われそうになったときは、頭と首を守ってうつ伏せになってじっとしているべきということ。
そうしたら、クマに襲われても一命は取り留めるらしい。
でも、冷静にそんなことができる人間はいるだろうか。
そう思って、ネットを検索していると、この行動は間違いであるという話もある。
その人によると、そのまま食べられてしまうということだ。
我々はどちらを信じれば良いのだろうか。

On TV, all they talk about is bears.
Because it's the season for gathering wild vegetables, the topic of bears is in high demand.
When encountering a bear, we must never show our back and run away immediately.
Bears have a habit of chasing anything that runs.
I understand this logic, but there's one thing that concerns me about how to behave if we encounter a bear.
If we are about to be attacked, we should stay calm, get on our stomachs, and protect our heads and necks.
They say that if we do this, we can save our lives even if we get attacked.
But can anyone actually stay calm and do that?
Thinking about this, I searched online and found other opinions saying this behavior is wrong.
They say if we do that, we'll be eaten by the bear.
Which theory should we believe?

山菜取りの季節になった。
都心に住んでいるので、結構遠くまで行かなくてはならない。
最低でも車で２時間ぐらいかかる。
迷子になるかも知れないし、クマと出くわすかもしれない。

自分一人では危険なのでいつも友達と一緒に行くことにしている。
本当は今日行く予定だった。
しかし、昨日から腰の調子が悪くなってしまった。
残念だが、この次の機会にすることとなった。

It has become the season for gathering wild plants.
Since I live in an urban area, I have to travel far to do so.
It takes at least two hours to reach the place where I can gather wild plants.
I may get lost or encounter a bear.
Because it's dangerous to go alone, I usually go with a friend.
To tell the truth, I had planned to go today.
But I have had a bad waist since yesterday.
Unfortunately, we will go at the next opportunity.

山田先生だ。
忘れないように詳細を書く。
当日は水も飲んでは行けないということだったが、ネットで調べると、そんなことはないという情報ばかり。

そもそも、水は飲んでも１時間もすると胃から腸に排出される。
また、水は透明なのであっても検査に影響を与えない。
だから、俺は病院へ行く前に家で水を飲んでいた。
と言っても、飲み過ぎは良くないと思い、ちびちび飲んだ。
で、検査の時に、飲食、水は摂ってないですかと聞かれて、もちろんと答えておいた。

I underwent an endoscopy at Satoduka Hospital.
It was Dr Yamada who performed the procedure.
To ensure I don't forget, I'm providing details about it.
On the day of the procedure, I was advised not to drink water, but upon researching online, I found information suggesting otherwise.
After all, water typically passes from the stomach to the intestines within an hour.
And its transparency doesn't interfere with the examination.
Therefore, I drank water at home before heading to the hospital.
However, I was cautious not to overdo it and drank only a little.
During the examination, I was asked if I had consumed any food or water, to which I replied, "Of course not".

義母が施設に入っている。
高齢で足腰が弱っているので車いす生活だ。
私の妻は義母と仲がいい。毎週会いに行っている。
先日の母の日お寿司を持って会いに行った。
私の車は普通の車で、車いすでは乗れない。

もしも車に乗れたら好きなレストランにでも連れて行きたいと思った。

My mother-in-law lives in a nursing home.
Due to her age and weakness in her legs and feet, she uses a wheelchair.
My wife is close with her.
And she visits her every week.
On Mother's Day, we brought her sushi.
My car is an ordinary car, so she can't ride in it with her wheelchair.
Last year, she could ride in the car with her wheelchair, but now she seems unable to.
If she could ride in the car, we would take her to a restaurant.

LINEでは電話番号で友達を自動登録する機能がある。
いままで、自動で登録されるのは溜まったものでではないと思い、ＯＦＦにしていた。

しかし、先日、ＩＤで友達登録をしなくてはならないことになったがいくらＩＤを入れてもその人を検索することができなかった.。
もしかすると、ここをＯＮにしなくてはならないのではと思いＯＮにした。
すると、たくさん友達ではという者が表示された。
そのとたん、友達ではというものの一人からからＬＩＮＥが来た。
以前の上司だ。
今は関係ないとは言っても、やはり上司と部下との間は引き継ぐ。
この辺りは、諸外国の人たちには理解できないだろう。
いやな奴ではないが、退職してまで連絡を取り合う間柄ではない。
でも、向こうからはＬＩＮＥが来る。
無視することもできずに友達に追加した。
それから毎日連絡が来る。
地獄だ。

I had failed.
There is a function that automatically adds a friend by phone number in Line.
I had it turned off.
However, the other day, I needed to add a friend by ID.
I entered the person's ID, but I couldn't add them.
I thought I must turn this function on, so I switched it on.
Then, many people appeared as potential friends.
As soon as I did, I received a notification from someone who seemed to be a friend.
He is my former boss.
We no longer have a relationship, but the former relationship as boss and subordinate continues.
Foreigners may not recognize this.
He is not a disliked man, but our relationship does not involve keeping in touch.
But I received a Line message from him.
I could not ignore him, so I added him as a friend.
Since then, I receive messages from him every day.
It is hell.

今日は近くの梅公園に行って来た。
いつもこのゴールデンウイークに行っている。
梅が満開だった。
梅のソフトクリームが売っていたので買って食べた。

Today, I went to the nearby Plum Park.
I usually go there during Golden Week.
The plum trees were in full bloom.
I bought and ate some plum soft serve ice cream that was being sold.
During the time of COVID-19, we couldn't go inside, but now we can see everything without any restrictions.
Having such a wonderful park nearby makes me glad to live here.

私の英語学習方法。
私は外国語を習得するためには、三つの要件があると思っている。
まず、聞くことができるようになること。
次に、聞いたことを母国語に直すことなく理解できるようになること。

最後に、話すことができるようになることの三つである。
前二者は、外国語をひたすら聞いて、何を言っているかイメージすることが大事。
そして、最後の話すことだが、まず、母国語で言いたいことを書いてそれを翻訳すること。
そのために、私は、ひたすらhellotalkに投稿している。

This is My Method of Learning English.
I believe there are three requirements for acquiring a foreign language.
Firstly, you should become able to listen.
Next, you should understand without translating to your native language.
Lastly, you should become able to speak the foreign language.
To accomplish the former two, you should diligently listen to the foreign language and visualize what is being said, which is important.
Regarding speaking, firstly, write what you want to say in your native language and then translate it into the foreign language.
For this, I consistently post on HelloTalk.
