As Tennessee’s No. 1 foreign direct investment partner, Japan continues to drive investment, jobs and innovation across our state. I was proud to share more about our state's vision for the future, including our leadership in nuclear energy and quantum computing, and discuss opportunities to deepen collaboration with our Japanese partners.
We look forward to continuing these conversations and further strengthening this partnership as we host the SEUS/Japan Annual Joint Meeting in Nashville this October.

I applaud @JPN_PMO@takaichi_sanae’s important speech today in Vietnam on updating Japan’s approach to a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.
In particular, I welcome Prime Minister Takaichi’s vision for Japan’s new proactive approach to cooperation on technological security, economic security, and national security with the United States and other partners.
As Senator and former Ambassador to Japan, I am confident that the U.S.-Japan Alliance and our many partners will do great things to advance security and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific and beyond!

“Every chef I've ever met. If you ask them if you had to spend rest of your life in one country, eating one country's food…where would that be?
They're all going to say the same thing: Japan. Tokyo. Period.
It’s a humbling experience. You come
here and you see how much precision — how much perfection — is possible with so few components and you've come away from that changed and a little frightened.”
