Jacob Young is on a 20+ HR pace this season. He's batting .295 with an .849 OPS and on a +5.0 WAR pace. Plus he plays Gold Glove quality CF and has plus-plus speed.

good as

A flaw is that OAA doesn't adjust for balls robbed above the wall. It goes by distance and time the ball is in the air to the catch probability. There needs to be a human element in adjusting for balls caught above walls or jumps in front of walls and even in foul territory.

⚾️Big thanks to @Nationals center fielder Jacob Young for stopping by the Pentagon yesterday. He joined senior DOD leaders to chat with service members & handed out exclusive bobbleheads + team hats. Grateful for those who serve!

Here's last year's top ten. Young led in both average jump and jump distance (covered toward catch point in three seconds from pitcher release)

That viral photo of Jacob Young's biceps ... was it an accurate depiction? "No. I think, honestly, good angle. Whoever was on the camera deserves a raise from me." https://t.co/bnTan0yBaa
