Truly absurd display of power from @collinpriest13 (1B, currently in the Portal)

Facility MoCap EV Record (113.7mph)
Facility Distance Record (476')
Collin Priest breaks facility record 🚨
He absolutely mashed in his MoCap with us last week and broke the distance record previously held by *checks notes* Collin Priest.
He also recorded the highest bat speed number we've seen in an assessment (Florida facility).

Luke Brkljacic (‘27,FL)🔥
Athletic 6’1” 195lb, 2-way player w/ tons of ability. Shows the above average bat to balls skills; smokes this pitch 99 mph to LF.

As a result, slowly but surely, Will improved his ability to load and rotate which lead to immense bat speed and EV gains, and much better ball flight too.
Peep next tweet for results...
The biggest issue we saw was Will's inability to load and coil his lower and upper half. This would dramatically hinder his ability to rotate fast and create barrel depth for better contact quality.
We attacked this through variations of:
- Offset Opens, Step Backs, Pivot Picks
@wpowell24 has put in some great work.
Here he is back in June of 2025 to his most previous reassessment last month. Quite a difference huh...
Let's look at what he improved at⬇️
From June 2025...
Will didn't come in at a bad spot. Through continuing his physical development in the weight room and making mechanical tweaks from the biomech, we knew big gains were on the table.
Luke Brkljacic ('27,FL)📝
LHH INF continues to impress this weekend; above average B2B skills w/ apparent middle of the field approach. Barrel works tight w/ lag - sends it to LF.
1B: 93 mph / 9º

Most baseball instruction given by people at the highest level is reasonable for those who are truly genetically gifted.
The problem is that "just making contact" and ignoring bat speed is really detrimental for the vast majority of players. Even professionals.
He bet on himself. Now it's tournament time. 🚀
The road to Omaha begins TODAY and Dylan Carey has been putting together one of the best seasons in Husker history:

You should care about getting your best swing off as often as possible.
Especially in training. Doing so in game speed environments has to be part of your training economy if you want it to translate to the game.
The ability to adjust the timing of when the barrel releases & when Bat Speed peaks is important
Same hitter making contact out front & getting to the pull-side vs making contact deep & driving a ball oppo
