@DanLeNatural@NOFSpodcast The Night Walker is not one of Castle's most famous films, but it is among his most effective. It caught me by surprise, too. Barbara Stanwyck had a lot to do with that.
@QuintsVessel I see that I am not the first to think of Savage Streets. (That is more than due for a re-watch.) John Vernon was in an Italian film called A Special Day playing Sophia Loren's horrible husband. He was a prick in that too.
@horrormuseum Only in the 1970s. The Pick-Up is a drive-in movie with a director who seemed to want to be making something a little more serious. It does get surprisingly pretentious.
@hazelflag I have a soft spot for the 1940s Technicolor musicals Betty Grable was in for 20th-Century Fox. They are silly and colorful escapist entertainment. MOON OVER MIAMI is my favorite so far. The FXM cable channel frequently shows them.
@GRCinemaTicket Has got to be this one. Its insanity has brought me much joy over the years. Who could have predicted back in the '80s that some (there was genuine crap, too) of these Cannon productions would be remembered more than the Hollywood hits of the period?
@TheFilmFair Never watched this one before, but the best thing about it likely the Piero Umiliani soundtrack. He wrote many great scores (Il Corpo; Angeli Bianchi, Angeli Neri) for films ranging from mediocre to complete crap.
Finishing #Noirvember with the British #fjlmnoir TIME WITHOUT PITY (1957). The sense of urgency in the story is mirrored by the quick shifting of locations and the coming and going of characters. The British cast is full of familiar faces.

THE LAST SEDUCTION (1994)
Finally got to a John Dahl #neonoir. Linda Fiorentino's ferocious, and sometimes funny, performance is the highlight here. Her Bridget gives any of the ruthless femmes fatales of the classic #filmnoir period a run for their money.
THE GRIFTERS (1990)
Anjelica Huston and company shine in an unsettling #neonoir. I was surprised by how cold-blooded the story gets. This has been a #Noirvember watch candidate for the past two years. Glad I got to it this year.

This Saturday morning I put on a double feature from unwatched @TCMUnderground recordings on a DVR that is being replaced soon. WILLARD was likely recorded back in 2018. Seeing the old intro (Degenerates!, Buxom Babes!) reminded me how much I miss that programming on #TCM.

LE CERCLE ROUGE (1970)
Although the characters look like they stepped out of a 1940s #filmnoir, the cinematic style is completely French. Jean-Pierre Melville's heist film is close to Le Samourai as the most "Melville" film have seen.
@ATRightMovies I am surprised not to find Peter Sellers mentioned. Many of his roles have a serious side to them while being comedic. Dr. Strangelove is probably the best example of that. Being There was undoubtedly a dramatic role for him.

THE PROWLER (1951)
Director Joseph Losey did what he could with what looks like a small budget and a script that falls apart at the conclusion. Not a spectacular #filmnoir but still watchable, especially with the strong performances of the lead actors.

THE BIG COMBO (1955)
For the time period, this is surprisingly violent. Richard Conte is excellent as the aggressive gangster doing whatever he has to do to keep the police away. #TCM (in this case) and FXM have been very helpful to the DVR this month.
#FilmNoir
RIFIFI (1955)
The perfect plan of a group of Parisian jewel thieves goes awry. It would not be a proper #Noirvember for me without some French #filmnoir. The long wait to finally watch this one was definitely rewarded.
