What are English teachers thoughts on it?
How will you mark it (if you do) in school or the classroom?

As it was Valentine's Day, they had to write a 3 stanza poem about two unlikely romantic characters and how they first met. Students loved revisiting their fond memories of the books and came up with some great mismatched characters.
Valentine's Day exercise that could be adapted for any class. Students read the poem 'A Crow and a Scarecrow' by Carol Ann Duffy. They were horrified that the crow pecked the scarecrow apart. We linked in with the classics below explaining rhyme is often important in storytelling
If you need some inspiration on a cool, dark January evening, Pauline Kelly is the woman to turn to. Full of practical advice based on years in the English classroom and an upbeat attitude, this seminar is being repeated tomorrow night due to high demand. Don’t miss it!
Pauline says that 'this will be a confident, upbeat session to counter the gloom of the moment & give a hopeful message!'. That & the fact that Pauline Kelly is presenting are two really good reasons in our book to sign up for this session while spaces are available...enjoy!😊
