Canada's inability to mitigate, contain, and prevent its wildfires must be addressed. These annual fires significantly harm not only our health and quality of life, but also our economic prosperity. I have discussed this situation with our Ambassador in Ottawa, Peter Hoekstra, and have personally reached out to Canadian government officials.

I call on the Canadian Government to fully and regularly inform appropriate US agencies such as the EPA as to the status and mitigation action plan regarding the fires.

I also encourage Canada to work with the US government to find concrete solutions to address their ongoing wildfire problems. Michiganders must stop paying the price for bad policy.

Mark Carney claimed his defense announcement today would create 6,000 jobs, but then admitted this includes existing jobs.

He then flails around for a couple of minutes without being able to explain if there will actually be any new jobs.

Unemployment is down. Youth unemployment is near its lowest level in over 2 years.

Mark Carney says Canada is ready to build while his own Liberals continue to prove the opposite.

Another $70 billion UAE investment stalled because the Liberals do not have enough shovel-ready projects. Meanwhile, 500 projects still wait for federal approval.

This is not a lack of opportunity. It is a lack of political will. Canada needs taxes and red tape cut and the Liberal anti-development laws and regulations that block projects repealed and reformed, so major projects can move forward with investment from the private sector, for the benefit of all Canadians.
