@MoneyHacks16 @richardsyeo That’s such a weak point. Show me a decent holiday for 2 adults and 2 children for less than 4k. People are misreading your post because you deem 4k an extravagant holiday whereas realistically, you don’t get much change from a 4k holiday these days.

@MoneyHacks16 Who said anything about your kids remembering. This isn’t about them. It’s about you and your memories with them. And like the other guy said, you can’t be any more present than not working and on holiday with them.

@TopTipping1 @MoneyHacks16 You’re diverting away from the OP. He was talking about a holiday that cost £4000 they would say no to but instead invest £500 a month. I would 100% sacrifice my investing to spend time with my family making memories. Whether it was a £1000 holiday or £10,000 holiday.

Your salary isn’t how rich you are.

It’s how much money you have available to build wealth.

£50k income with £45k spending isn’t necessarily better than £40k income with £25k spending.

Income does matter but what you keep matters more.
