We have B5 and B6 opportunities in our paediatric team here in Moray, Scotland. If you’re considering a move up north, want to ask some questions and get a sense of what a SLT day in Moray looks like then send us a message! @MoraySpeech
Today at the end of our final session of our online aphasia group, the group members asked for each others' email addresses to organise finally meeting in person 😁 hopefully they can continue to support each other with their stroke journey outside of SLT #aphasiaawarenessmonth
Placement Week 3/4 ✅ Adults this week seeing Stroke patients, Aphasia, Dyspraxia, Dysphagia and even LSVT. So grateful for my PE @JCruickshankSLT going above and beyond to ensure I get as much experience as possible. PE’s are so inspirational 💕✨ #slt2b#sltstudent
A really great read from @conor_foran who designed Dysfluent Mono, a typeface which visually repesents the experience of a stammer. I’m always looking for places where my art and SLT passions co-exist and this is just it! @dysfluent
My dad died 9 months after his MND diagnosis. 6 of those months were spent battling the benefit system. Payments were stopped and he received requests to attend back to work appointments, when he was housebound. The DWP's 6 month rule is inhumane! #Scrap6Months#actionnow#MND
1st session back of our online aphasia group this morning. At the end of our session one participant spontaneously praised another for how good his speech was sounding today! Being able to see confidence grow week by week is exactly why group therapy is so important 🗣 #mysltday
Spent the past week working with a patient who is end of life & unable to speak. We made this communication board together for him to reconcile with his brother after a fight 15 years ago. “I need to do this before I go.”

Can anyone help? I have patient with advanced parkinsons who is also registered blind. Speech mildly dysarthric but severely dysfluent. Limited response to LSVT. Suggestions of further management options/AAC please 🙏 @RCSLT@ParkinsonsUK#Parkinsons#SLT#sltpeeps#AAC

@linzi_weir Wow great work Linzi , we would love to hear that story . Could it be a blog ? Talking Mats practitioners love examples of Talking Mats & use in #capacity is much discussed
I was able to use @TalkingMats with a patient who has aphasia to counteract the medical decision regarding his capacity. I'm now prepping with visuals to support his communication in a meeting with his solicitor tomorrow! #mySLTday#AHPsDay2020#totalcommunication
this morning I felt my professional opinion was valued and appreciated during an important MDT decision on the wards. It felt like a real win to be so listened to. happy #AHPsDay2020#SLTappreciation@RCSLT 🥳
