@DaleJr@wrangler3chevy@KevinHarvick Is everyone understanding what Jr is saying here? My brother Barry would not hire anyone who had their own racecar. Figure that one out.
Johnny Dodson would have been 95 today #RIP
Dodson is pictured here driving his #131 Chevy in the 1956 Grand National (Cup) race at Road America. He started 16th and finished 10th.
1957 Convertible race results from the Charlotte Fairgrounds. Dad was driving a Petty Engineering Olds formerly driven by Ralph Earnhardt. He finished 4th but got DQ’d. Don’t know why but the apple don’t fall far from the tree. Me and my brothers never got DQ ‘d. @DaleJr
@DougLake15@DaleJr We’ll never have drivers with names like that again. Handlebar Walden, Shorty York, Buren Skeen, Roy Tyner the “Flying Indian “ and more.
@wrangler3chevy Barry Dodson and Tim Brewer getting it done at the Rock! Richmond mixed it up a bit that day. I was the tire guy then 1 1/2 inch spread in the front and 1/2 inch in the rear!
March 12, 1977- Dale Inman and Barry Dodson prepare to spring into action during the Union 76 Pit Crew Competition at Rockingham. The Petty team took the top spot, changing two tires and adding 14 gallons of gas in a record 17.390 seconds.
When I was 16 yrs old I got two speeding tickets within a few weeks and lost my license for a while. Looks like I take after my dad. The story below is from 1956. @LegendsNascar
@David_Nance57@LegendsNascar I don’t recall that he ever said a thing. I was working for Richard Childress at the time and my wonderful mom would take me to work and pick me up.
