I have manged to make it out in between the bouts of grey of the past few weeks to Talacre beach in north Wales, which is traditionally one of my unlucky places weather wise (every photographer has many of these type of places ) and West Kirby, but which one is your favourite?

It looks like spring is in the air tonight, although it’s starting to get a tad nippy now that the sun has gone down, but can you guess where I am?

The unassuming little wooden gate to the left of this photo may be small, but it's arguably one of the most important in the UK if you're a hiker. For this is the gate that you creak open with a deep breath to begin the Pennine Way, the oldest national trail in the country. If you just keep on going, it takes you for 268 miles across the beautiful northern uplands until you reach Kirk Yetholm in Scotland.
