@BlakeAued Although it was good that government officials at least called for an enlightened sense of inclusivity, they did not do enough to protect the actual victims of longstanding racism and prejudice at the hands of those who used the 9/11 attacks to justify hate crimes.
@BlakeAued I was living in Manhattan at the time. Sikhs in Brooklyn were beaten. Every Sikh cab driver had a letter of explanation taped to the glass that separates riders from drivers. These letters explained their religion and their solidarity with those who opposed terrorism.
