i tried to go to a bank to close my account today. I was routed through 2 desks before I had to scan a qr code, then the lady made me install their app so I can ask an ai assistant how to do it. the ai assistant sent me to a 'specialist'. my account remains open
2022: Call my doctors office, tell receptionist I am running five minutes late, apologize, hang up
2026: Call doctors office, get routed to a new company-wide "AI assistant," navigate phone tree, get put on hold to wait for a human at a call center, wait 6 minutes, explain to human agent what is going on, get put on hold while human agent calls my physical doctors office to tell them for me
This is not better
Something we've been forced to forget is that people probably fall in love one (1) time, and everything after pales in comparison
I think this truth is too painful for it to even enter the discourse
just cannot understand the conservative mentality advocating for wide open traps that any 18-24 should be able to walk into that permafuck their lives up
@averyeseverson The low value degrees is a personal decision made by the student and you can blame the lack of housing on the immigrant and sanctuary city issue driving people out of blue States/Cities into other areas.
@KD8thebowz@theskulled I haven't made a single statement of quality, opinion or preference, and I'm not being intentionally obstinate. My favorite format is actually Edison, which itself is a huge departure from early 'old school' yugioh, which is also subject to the shift OP is describing.
@KD8thebowz@theskulled Yeah, I've done scientist FTK before, and empty jar, etc. These counterexamples don't really invalidate what I'm saying. Sure, they exist, but they're not the majority. The game and card design has changed massively, this is like, clearly observable fact.
@KD8thebowz@theskulled Your examples do not contradict the original post. These cards have simple effects and do simple things. The depth comes from how they interact with other simple playpieces. Most of the turns in these old formats would not rely on 40 actions per turn.
as someone who spent 16 years doing some combo of vegan/vegetarian/pescatarian and then gave up and ate meat while pregnant last year, i actually think this tweet is true.
the feeling of choosing to eat meat was very much like โ*shrug* iโm gonna do something selfish and sorta evil because im lazy and full of desire.โ i think many choices are like this and youโll find that acknowledging that reality actually feels better than doing mental gymnastics to justify your decisions.
