I remember when I first started trading I knew nothing about trading psychology until I started losing trades and then like many I turned to the book Trading in the zone by Mark Douglas.
I still didn't learn from my mistakes and continued trading. At that stage it was emotional trading along with my ego assisting. Fear, greed, revenge trading you name it... I was doing everything but following my plan.
You want to know what changed? It was persistence and experience with the markets.
Over time I learnt what worked and what didn't. There isn't any secret formula or a holy grail system. It's just you versus you. Take control of your emotions and backtest the hell out of your strategy. That's the only way you will grow.
@SRxTrades This is the part people don’t see - the years of losing, learning, and staying in the game before the results finally showed up.
Most quit during the exact phase that builds the experience they need. How did you know it was time to keep pushing instead of walking away?
@rotrade93 This is spot on. Psychology matters, but it’s hard to manage your emotions when you don’t fully trust or understand your own edge. Deep strategy knowledge + consistent review builds the confidence to execute properly.
@tradericch You have to let the probabilities play out. With a 50% win rate you can still get 5, 6 losses in a row but over the large sample the edge will work out how it's suppose to.
@FX__THERAPIST For sure, this is a big one. Sometimes the best trade is no trade at all. How do you personally stay patient and avoid forcing a setup when the market isn’t giving you anything?
August price action hasn’t been the best.
But that’s okay.
Not every month is about making big returns. Sometimes the win is having the discipline to wait for your A+ setups and protect your capital.
Stay patient. Stay disciplined.
Better opportunities will come.
Enjoy the weekend. 🧠📈
A losing streak doesn’t necessarily mean your strategy stopped working. Sometimes the hardest part is trusting your edge while it’s going through variance.
Remember that you don’t need to make money today.
You need to make good decisions.
The money is a byproduct of consistently executing well.
Focus on the process.
Let the results follow.
@buckotrades 100%. Regardless of the winrate most strategies tend to work if you put enough effort into find an edge. The key is to have a solid process and not worry too much about the numbers.
@AtifHussainOG The numbers change but the mindset required doesn’t.
Stay consistent, keep improving, and let the results compound! Most people quit right before it starts clicking.
@tradewithola The painful part is knowing exactly what went wrong, then doing it all over again.
The breakthrough comes when you stop relying on motivation and start building a process with strict rules you actually follow.
