Coproducing and coauthoring research with and by people with lived experience & with the right skills sets and support to do so is key. I’d like to see H&SC Research across all disciplines include ‘social clauses’ to enable coauthoring of research by experts by experience , as a condition of / applied weighting for funding allocations.
Today we've launched a new requirement that all applicants must demonstrate how their research will address existing inequalities in health and social care as a condition of funding. Applicants will now be required to show how inclusion is being built into all stages of the research lifecycle. https://t.co/765hxygjRD
“We are very clear that research inclusion is essential—not political. If your research isn’t representative, it’s not going to improve outcomes across our population… This isn’t just moral; it’s scientific and economic.”
