Thanks again to @NathanMontone (M31 Capital) and @Andercot for the invitation to an awesome PHYSICS OF CONSCIOUSNESS event at DEEP TECH WEEK in Austin, TX. Looking forward to the release of the presentation and panel videos in the next few weeks.
One distinction: in my model, microtubules don't create consciousness. The microtubule-generates-consciousness idea you've heard of is Orch OR, from Stuart Hameroff and Roger Penrose, which is quantum.
My framework takes a different route. The brain generates function and structure, and transduces conscious content. Microtubules are a candidate bridge: their periodic lattice plus built-in structural mismatch (the seam) is the kind of geometry that can couple to a hidden degree of freedom in the substrate, classically and at body temperature. They would be part of the receiver, not the source.
On hermeticism, you're not wrong. The substrate is self-similar at every scale, so "as above, so below" has a precise geometric cousin here. The difference is that this version makes predictions that can fail.
Yes so reflective information geometry postulates that matter is self referential information (vs light which is information traveling through the substrate) on a quasicrystalline substrate etc which could then mean being self referential is a fundamental characteristic of matter and something that is supported and perpetuated by the substrate. Which then when we got to the math under mode 4 and a coupling mode popped out, it seems like that could be the actual mechanism through which the microtubules could interact with a broader “source” type of thing. even in the infographic you made you have a crystalline structure based on phi. So yeah I think we are saying similar things.
The word? I mean yes I spend the last few days with Stuart Hameroff and others who are some of the worlds experts in how microtubules are connected to consciousness and my paper and framework is consistent with his work and microtubules. And Fibonacci structures are seen in the functioning of these microtubules . Are you saying something else?
One more thing on this though, what makes them caught in closure? My view is that the geometry comes from the substrate vs emergent structure . But I think you are saying there is structure. So why would photons find structure through history vs something else? Are there any experimental or other predictions you can point to? Because I think we end up in similar places but I haven’t fully understood how yours starts and why
Thanks for sending! I'm working on a similar information first framework (Reflexive Information Geometry, Fibonacci Research Institute), which also uses SPARC as one of its main empirical tests. Our starting points differ (seems like u build from Compton-clock particles and boundary writes; RIG from a 2D quasicrystalline substrate), but the overlap is interesting. Two quick questions , your a₀ = cH₀/2π implies a₀ tracks H(z), so do you have a prediction for high redshift rotation curves that separates SFT from standard MOND? Might be interesting to run both against the same subset with a shared holdout. That way we could see where predictions diverge. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
