@CharlieG__ When your offense continues to give you no margin for error, one error loses games.
Or one bad pitch by one reliever.
Only four hits you deserve to lose the game.
@yuggs513 Stephenson trying to get in a rundown on Arroyo's plenty long sac fly to CF in the 6th inning is a huge tell.
Francona is still trying to win games 2-1, just like last year, even though this BP is a full-on train wreck.
Mets collapse last year covered up so many crushing flaws.
@CharlieG__ The only thing that's gonna save this BP right now is longer starting pitching. Need Lodolo to round into form and Lowder to get to 100% fast and perform while Burns and Abbott continue to be rock solid.
Is it likely to happen? No. But that's what they need most of all.
@CharlieG__ Anyone watching the NFL should have learned a long time ago the inherent flaw to replay in sports.
Meant to remove human error, it adds MORE ref involvement to plays. They microscopically look at a play and start seeing things that aren't there.
@Clay_sno He won't tolerate anything but a puppy dog media lobbing softball questions at him & then he gets snarky about the softball questions.
You're not allowed to ask him "what the hell is it with you and Friedl?" or you'd be frozen out and then he acts like this about the allowed Qs.
@HeyGingersaurus With that offensive performance tonight, they stood a great chance of losing the Burns start.
So, in that regard, maybe it's a good thing he was out sick.
@mikecommito Just did a google '80s NHL deep dive like two days ago (on Kings' trading a young Larry Murphy - so dumb) and came across an 18-year-old Lemieux firing a shot at Rick Wamsley in practice after Wamsley had turned his back. He'd been warned not to do that since he'd done it before!
@ColbyBlair83@oldhockeycards Even more unpopular:
Bring back wood sticks.
I have a vivid memory of watching Dave Christian skating around with the Capitals in the 1980s as one of the first players with an aluminum stick and saying to myself, "Uh-oh, I don't like where this is going."
@GregFinberg I know Giannis is a different line of quality altogether, but the franchise that traded:
- Rasheed for Strickland
- Webber for old man Richmond
- Ben Wallace for Ike Austin
- Rip Hamilton for Stackhouse
should be legally barred from ever trading young for old for all time.
@Berger_BYTES It took me 5 full minutes trying to figure out who Gordon (who I always liked a ton on WOR, great pairing these two) was mistaking Siltanen for -- who is McLanan? -- until it hit my ears right.
@CharlieG__ That's a more than decent return for a DFA. Must mean multiple teams were interested in Hinds.
Which again makes me think letting him go with all his potential was not the smartest idea at this point in time.
@RedsFan_Brandon Despite the infinity love Francona has for him, I can't see how he survives the next month. Suarez should be back, Arroyo is on the way and Hector is gonna be ready too.
That's 3 bullets he'll have to dodge. Watch them drop Benson & Dunn & leave Hector in AAA to rot. Bastards.
