It’s nothing new, It’s always has been the case. It’s called the “Peace Dividend”.
It’s just been the generational negligence of successive governments that has led to this, with an incompetent MOD central to it. The UK must reinvest in its armed forces.
Every war now shows up on your energy bill. Defence isn't separate from the economy any more. It is the economy.
And the countries that invest in it get to write the rules. Everyone else lives by them.
Escape to Victory (1981) is a gloriously weird, star-studded blend of Hollywood and football royalty.
Sir Michael Caine said he took the part mainly to work with Pelé, whom he saw as a legend. Pelé agreed to do the famous bicycle kick just once, and once was enough.
@timdavies_uk@GBNEWS Totally different. DWP, NHS different departments and budgets.
It’s high time the defence sector got its act together rather than just excusing governmental negligence.
@KaiserBCFC_ Yu is, was and always will be a final 3rd player. The belief that he was a wingback was scandalous. The inability to adapt tactically to that has been the issue. It’s why the forthcoming appointment is so critical. Apparently the Bournemouth coach likes wingers 🙏🏻
What a season. From sitting anonymously in our season ticket seats 18 rows behind us, to this. Will never ever forget this run at Tynecastle, whatever happens next.🇱🇻
Thanks for all the lovely comments over the past few months. It means the world.
100% record too! 4 out of 4.🤝🏻
@BCFC_Chapz@RobinNestBCFC I think the issue is that it’s appears at least to be premeditated and the Boro case maybe not the only one.
But if they can get away with this, we might as well mic up the visitors changing room at Ashton Gate 😂
@BCFC_Chapz@RobinNestBCFC Immaterial. Southampton are alleged not just to have viewed training session(s) visually they are accused of using digital surveillance equipment to listen in and seek an unlawful advantage. Whether that was successful or not in my view is not the point.
@Robbie9Fowler@premierleague Agreed Robbie. This situation has been years in the making. To the point refs repeatedly go over to talk to players to stop it before a set piece is taken. This happens at no other part of the game. Holding / shirt pulling is foul play and had to be penalised. Pens must be given
41 years ago, Marvelous Marvin Hagler defeated Thomas Hearns by TKO in round 3 of 12 to retain the undisputed middleweight titles. One of the greatest fights of all time.
Caretaker taking care of business. Roy Hodgson still going strong at 78, managing his 1,270th game, guiding Bristol City to victory at Charlton Athletic. Age is a number, Roy is Roy, a mix of experience and expertise and point to prove through feeling slightly under-appreciated.
Admitted to a few nerves before kick-off. But brings calm and direction to a dressing-room in need of it. Prepared team well, even with only three training sessions. Called for players to show pride in their performance and they responded. Radek Vitek and Scott Twine particularly good. Ends run of six games without a win. Bigger tests still to come, such as a trip to play-off chasers Southampton on April 21. But a good start.
Still plenty of issues for owner Steve Lansdown to address, though, strengthening squad, clarifying ambition, rebuilding connection with fans etc. But Hodgson looks a shrewd short-term appointment. Quells some of the noise and angst around the club. Sold-out away following at The Valley also shows how many people care about the club. #BristolCity
