Middle of the lineup for Varsity Baseball?
Some guys absolutely have the 3-0 green light with runners on.
Why?
Because it might be the best pitch they see all day.
If they get out, ok they get out?
They’re hitting in the middle of the order for a reason. They’ll be back up.
This is one of the most important baseball quotes you will read today, and I'm not even remotely exaggerating
This is the mindset that gets you to 1917 career RBI and a plaque hanging in Cooperstown, and it's completely different from how most hitters think today
When everyone is talented, talent means nothing. 🔥
Inky Johnson nailed it.
At the highest level, the separator isn't skill. It's leadership. Culture. Commitment. Mindset.
What's your team's separator? 👇
In H.S. baseball, especially varsity, some coaches run two-way players into the ground and act surprised when the arm starts hurting.
Pitching + playing the field adds up fast. Extra throws matter.
If a kid has a future in college baseball, protecting that arm should matter.
Every head coach knows this:
A great assistant changes everything.
They lift your culture.
They protect your standards.
And they determine how far your team can really go.
If you just put the ball in play, you will score more runs and win more games.
It ain’t rocket science!
K’s are going to happen, it’s inevitable, some pitchers have nasty stuff… But, when a TEAM shrinks it’s K percentage, they instantly are better.
Take pride in putting the ball in play!

I’ve been around this game a long time, and something’s changed...
We’re losing respect for the game.
• Chirping after every pitch.
• Celebrating routine plays like it’s Game 7
• Trying to embarrass opponents instead of beating them.
That’s not toughness. That’s insecurity. 💯
Somewhere along the way, being loud became more important than being good.
And the worst part? It’s being allowed.
When I came up…
• You showed up early.
• You handled your business.
• You played hard.
• You shut your mouth.
• If you had something to say…
you said it with performance.
• And if lines were ever crossed, the players took care of it.
The truth: 👇
• Baseball is hard.
• You’re going to fail.
• You’re going to struggle.
• The game doesn’t need more noise…
• It needs more respect.
• Nobody remembers who chirped.
• They remember who showed up.
• Who competed.
• Who handled adversity.
• Who left the game better than they found it.
Want to separate yourself?
Stop talking. Start working.
Respect the game.

Went to a HS game yesterday. Had a D1 coach come meet me there to watch a kid.
During the game, the team’s catcher would sprint to his position every inning.
He’s an underclassman, the D1 coach wasn’t there for him, he is now on that coaches radar.
Some things preached at every level -
▪️sprint to your spot between innings
▪️show off your arm in between innings
▪️serious throws in the INF/OF and as a catcher
You can be 0-3 and still make an impression
Stop assuming they know.
Teach everything.
How to warm up.
How to compete.
How to win.
How to lose.
How to be a great teammate.
The best coaches simplify and teach.
Nobody else will.
Speed can be trained.
Speed can be detrained.
If you are not timing sprints consistently and recording, ranking, and publishing those times, you are probably detraining speed and you don’t know it.
Stop doing sh*t that makes you slow.
The “boring” stuff wins ballgames:
-Backing up the play
-Putting the ball in play
-Moving the runner
-Making the routine plays
-Consistent communication
-Throwing strikes
-Smart baserunning
-Taking your walks
-Getting HBP, holding your ground
-Hitting a cutoff man
-Hustling out everything
*At some point, the “boring” tasks of ⚾️ will win extra games! And more often than not, playoff berths, seedings, playoff wins, and even championships can be determined and decided by what many would call “boring.”
Turn the “boring” into the “important” and that’s how you win!

Failure is the door, and MOST people quit when they reach it.
0-for-4?
Bad outing?
Struggling?
Good. You’re closer than you think.
Stay strong. Fight. Persevere.
Walk through the 🚪. 💯
