Always a great partner and leader for #Queens. Thanks for your ongoing support in #Corona. With your support we continue making progress in Corona Plaza!
The work of our Corona Plaza Task Force hasn’t been easy, but events like this one make it all worth it.
Corona Plaza is a cleaner, stronger place today because of the advocacy of @VendorPower and the work of agencies like @NYC_DOT, @NYCSanitation, @NYC_SBS and @QueensEDC.
After after a slew of crashes in our neighborhood, we teamed up to call on @NYC_DOT to meet with us.
As you can see from our smiles, it was a productive discussion of immediate action steps — and Zohran’s bicycle.
Stay tuned for into about coming infrastructure improvements…
Thanks to our community’s advocacy, @NYC_DOT informed us that they will install multi-way stop signs at the intersection of 10th St and 40th Ave in Long Island City. We will provide updates once the signs are installed!
Don't miss tonight's exclusive #filmscreening of "Wood Hood," the story of a 15-year-old kid from NYC who loves skateboarding and craves a “quiet place” to escape the chaos of his home, the city, and kids that steal from him👉 https://t.co/3BlSuEJNRI
See you at 6 PM!
☀️Good morning from Corona Plaza where street vendors are working together with @NYC_DOT@QueensEDC@NYCMayorsOffice to power wash and refresh the plaza!
Investment & collaboration keep our community thriving!
And here's the current part under construction this week between 91st ➡️Junction Blvd. It has it's truffle paint and markings (and has always had furniture) @NYC_DOT doing some really good work here. I was skeptical on paper but this is turning to be very substantial. @OpenPlans
The community’s vision is becoming a reality. Over 4 years of outreach has given JH more open space and a safer street for families, seniors and our pets! Onward!
Some have been asking what the current state of the @34_ave Project is, especially many who haven't even visited it in 2022. So here I will present a ride thru of nearly finished phase between 77➡️80th of the open street/Paseo Park/plaza block/#schoolstreet (chose your favorite)
This month, NYC DOT will begin pedestrian and #BikeNYC safety improvements on Seagirt Blvd (Rockaway Fwy to Beach 9th St) in #Queens. This work will:
🚶♂️ Create shorter, safer crossings
🚶♀️ Increase pedestrian visibility
🚗 Discourage speeding
🚴♀️ Add protected bike lanes
Yesterday we walked through the district with Queens @NYC_DOT Commissioner Garcia and her team. From school crossings, to dangerous intersections and potholes, we pointed out concrete ways to make our community’s streets safer for pedestrians. It’s an urgent issue across our city
@NYDailyNews AGREES! #NYC needs control over operating our red-light/speed cameras. The expansion of these life saving tools just make sense and will proactively save 100s of lives each year. Contact your State reps and share your support! https://t.co/kX33UaRHpM
Something magical is happening in Jackson Heights. Yesterday’s snowy tour of the 34th Avenue Open Street gave us the opportunity to learn more about @voteshekar’s vision for the community. Looking forward to working together.
Let’s take our successes to more nabes in #NYC! “After a stretch of Main Street in Flushing, #Queens, a notoriously gridlocked corridor, was turned into a busway last year, rush-hour bus speeds rose by 50 percent” via @NYTimes https://t.co/Eok8qLdSSb
#HappeningToday Small business owners will be able to hear from the leaders of City agencies and learn about the resources available from @NYC_SBS. @QnsBPRichards presents “Virtual Small Business Town Hall with City Leaders”. Today, Jan 19 @ 5:30 pm.
This is what it is looking like on the first weekday of the @NYC_DOT “soft opening” for the Jamaica Avenue busway. Traffic restrictions are in place, but fines don't start right away. Traffic agents are out reminding drivers of changes. @NY1
