This image confronts us with two of the greatest scandals of Christianity.
The first scandal is that none of us are good enough for heaven.
Most people compare themselves to serial killers, dictators, rapists, and criminals and conclude, "At least I'm not that bad." But God does not compare us to Jeffrey Dahmer. He compares us to His own perfect holiness. Scripture says that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. The proud businessman, the moral neighbor, the avid atheist, the faithful churchgoer, and the murderer all stand guilty before a holy God apart from Christ.
The second scandal is that God saves anyone at all.
The real question is not, "How could God save someone like Dahmer if he truly repented and believed?" The real question is, "How could God save any of us?" Every person deserves judgment. Every person deserves separation from God. Salvation is never owed. It is never earned. It is pure grace from beginning to end.
That is what makes the gospel so offensive to human pride. It tells the worst sinner that he can be forgiven through Christ, and it tells the best-looking sinner that he cannot save himself.
The cross levels everyone. We are all condemned in Adam, and the only hope for any of us is Jesus Christ.

HEARTBREAKING: Her 10-month-old baby was cut in half with a knife in front of her, her husband shot dead, and she watched them split her second child's skull with a machete. They also amputated one of her hands.
This is life for Christians in Nigeria. The media remains silent.
🚨🇬🇧: A UK Christian Pastor will face TRIAL this week for preaching a gospel message based on John 3.16 near a general hospital.
He is accused of attempting to “influence” people accessing abortion.
He never even mentioned this topic. 🤯
This trial is important. Can Christians really be removed from public spaces not because of what they say or do - but because of what they might think?? 👇
The Islamic imam who put 1million naira to any Muslim that can behead a pastor for preaching Jesus has said:
“…whoever carries out this job (of beheading the pastor), I swear to Allah I’ll give him one million naira. We have nothing to lose even if after beheading this pastor, the Arewa plunges into chaos, we have nothing to lose…”
Dear @OfficialDSSNG@PoliceNG
We know you will pretend not to see this. But we are bringing this to your attention again.
There are Muslim clerics in northern Nigeria who are openly calling for the beheading of Christian pastors.
Pls help retweet this for the world to see.
The idea that each parent has absolute liberty to choose how to raise their children is misguided. It would only apply if those children were going to live alone in their own world without any possibility of interacting and affecting others. Your child might marry another person’s child. Your child will work with other people. Your child might become a leader of other people. Why then shouldn’t society be concerned about how its members raise their children?
Many of the problems we are facing in society and as a country are rooted in our upbringing. For instance, I have to be concerned that someone is raising a potentially violent child, because I could be that child’s victim tomorrow. It is not that parent’s exclusive business when I can be affected. Yes, there should be boundaries, but they can’t be absolute - since we are ultimately interconnected.
One strange thing nobody prepares you for in this profession is how normal injustice starts feeling.
Not big injustice. Not headline-worthy stuff. Small, routine unfairness.
A matter adjourned for no real reason.
A file lost and everyone pretending it’s fine. A client blamed for a system failure.
A junior humiliated casually or A litigant waiting years because “that’s how it works”.
At first, these things bother you deeply.
You rant about them. You feel angry. You feel helpless. Then something dangerous happens.
You adjust.
You start budgeting your outrage.
You pick which unfairness is worth reacting to and which one you’ll quietly accept so the day can move on.
The scary part isn’t that the system is flawed.
It’s that professionals inside it learn how to live with those flaws without constantly feeling disturbed. Not because they are bad people. But because constant moral shock is exhausting.
And that’s where the real ethical challenge lies. Not in grand corruption. But in deciding, every day, how much unfairness you are willing to normalise just to survive.
I don’t have a solution to this. I’m not even sure there is one.
But I think it’s worth asking ourselves this occasionally that at what point does “being practical” quietly turn into being numb? And how do you stay functional without slowly losing your discomfort with things that shouldn’t be normal at all?
Would genuinely like to hear how others think about this.
@HustleBitch_ A starting point would be Gen. 3:1-3 where we are shown Eve quoting the command. This means that Eve knew it and was well aware of the consequences. Very likely that it was Adam who told her, especially b'se she added 'and you must not touch it'. Overall, I don't see a gap.
@Biblicalman I think the "if" at the beginning of the verse and the words "His will" should've been capitalized as well. He won't hear if your request is contrary to His will. You have only that which you ask ACCORDING TO HIS WILL. That is very important in applying this verse faithfully.
