To All Kenyan Youth and the General Public:

The National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) Project is a five-year initiative of the Government of Kenya that seeks to unlock the potential of Kenya’s youth by addressing unemployment, expanding income-generating opportunities, and promoting a culture of savings and entrepreneurship.

The project aims to empower over 820,000 vulnerable youth aged 18-29 (up to 35 for persons with disabilities) by providing free business skills training, certification, mentorship, and non-repayable business support capital of up to KSh. 50,000 to start or expand their businesses.

It has come to our attention that SCAMMERS are exploiting the NYOTA name to target vulnerable youth. We urge you to be vigilant and not fall victim to these scammers.

There is NO official NYOTA App for applying, registering, or receiving funds. Any app claiming to be linked to NYOTA such as NYOTA Fund is FAKE and it’s designed to scheme and solicit your personal data.

Please be aware of this.

VALIDATION EXERCISE FOR NYOTA PROJECT - BUSINESS SUPPORT COMPONENT

Today, a nationwide validation exercise for the business component for the NYOTA Programme is being conducted across all constituencies in the republic.

The main objective is to verify the authenticity and eligibility of applicants to generate a final, definitive list of 100,000 youth beneficiaries for the Business Support grant.

This grant is the first part of the broader Kshs. 20 Billion NYOTA intervention. Specifically, the Business Support component amounts to a total of Kshs. 5 Billion, with each successful applicant set to receive a Kshs. 50,000 start-up grant to fund and scale their entrepreneurial ventures.

This validation exercise targets youths who were pre-selected and received official messages of invitation to participate.

The data collected from today's physical validation, combined with the performance in the Entrepreneurship Aptitude Test (EAT), will be subjected to a comprehensive analysis. This analysis will lead to the generation of a purely system-generated and verifiable list of the 100,000 final beneficiaries, which will be ready by next week.

All pre-selected applicants thus are urged to attend the validation exercise in person at their respective designated venues as officially published, with their Original National Identity Card/NCPWD Card.
