@dibsemeritus@jon_greenberg Proximity to Lake County (IL) is more important than proximity to downtown CHI. It has a HHI of ~$109k compared to ~$69k in Lake County (IN) and ~$88k in Porter County. Looking beyond the 10 - 13 home games a year, I'd guess they'd prefer to build near the most purchasing power.
@AdamHoge This isn't just about a stadium, but creating a surrounding entertainment district. The AH location unlocks nearby Lake County, IL (HHI around $109k). Indiana's Lake County has a HHI around $69k. They already own the AH land. Look beyond another bad bluff.
@jon_greenberg@AdamHoge Only care bc Poles had a chance to set a new “standard” for what they’ll consider for a HC candidate and say no, Brown doesn’t meet that standard. Instead Brown keeps showing he isn’t cut out for this and the org still wants to act like he’s in the mix for ‘25. It’s bad optics.
@EOpsych This chart's a little deceiving bc those bars show ratios, not magnitude. Based on the breakdown, 1.57x more Millennial men (compared to Gen Z men) voted for Harris. Basically, Gen Z men were more likely than any other age + gender group to not vote at all.
@radiologiccfh@Msalexisjade Stevenson has proven repeatedly that he can’t control himself. Got the costly flag, was kept in the game and continued to jaw despite having just incurred the penalty. When an adult player can’t act like an adult, it’s on the coach to step in.
@radiologiccfh@Msalexisjade I don’t disagree. But those adults didn’t decide to not wind down time w 1st and goal on the 1. They didn’t concede a 15 yard throw to set Daniels up for the HM. They didn’t forego a TO before the HM. They didn’t send just 3 rushers and bizarrely keep Edwards mid depth as a spy.
@ChimaOdunze@jacobinfante24 It's not a bad thing to avoid the pressure a typical 9th overall pick carries. This is about the next decade, not the first six games. There was only one guy the vast majority of fans wanted at the 9th pick. Anyone questioning it now is in the vocal (and idiotic) minority.
@ChimaOdunze@jacobinfante24 Nabers and MHJ are getting those targets on a 2-4 team from struggling QBs. The Bears' O is a work in progress with several key playmakers only having a handful of games working together. Any serious fan understands Rome's talent and abilities, regardless of initial targets.
@JamesFox917@bmarsh1013 I don’t see how this directly punishes bad owners or incentivizes them to improve their teams anyway. It really just disincentivizes fans to care about the team or hold onto hope during lean times through the farm system. Ultimately bad for the MLB.
@AlyssaBergamini Disappointing, but not at all surprising, that a WS employee thinks she is in any position to cast judgement on the fans. God forbid a fanbase unfairly tied to your incompetent bosses are able to find one shred of joy in an otherwise soul crushing season.
@shifty3212@southsideluk@ChicagoBears If you can get the player in their prime (whether that's when they were on the Bears or not) then this is absolutely the answer.
