Not done yet! Thanks to 10D CM @PhyliciaPorter_ for this incredible letter of support. We are proud to serve your residents of South Baltimore each day and we appreciate you standing by us as we vote to gain our union! #UNIONYES#UMRFA
"...basically, the time is ripe. Folks across the country want a union," AFT Maryland president Kenya Campbell said.

We thank you for your support! Leaders like you standing by us mean so much as we strive to create a more just system not just for us residents and fellows but for our patients and communities as well. Thank you for standing by us! #SolidarityForever
Big thanks to @MayorBMScott for his strong support for our unionization campaign. He knows that a win for us is a win for Baltimore. It is a true honor for us to serve the people of Baltimore everyday and we thank him for standing by our side in this #unionforever@AFT_Maryland
This may be a parody account but UMMC is proving to be beyond parody by having a carnival in the hospital for National Hospital Week. Quite literally clown behavior from admin
It's official! We filed for voluntary recognition with our employer @UMMC today. We are proud of all of our supporters who want better working conditions and wages and improve patient outcomes. We are affiliating with @AFT_Maryland@AFTunion@AFLCIO#unionproud
North Carolina doctors are speaking out against the regressive legislation being passed by the General Assembly.
“The North Carolina legislature is stripping doctors of our ability to practice medicine,” Dr. Erica Pettigrew said at a press conference last week.
Oh you’re going to a teaching hospital in July? Well get ready…
for the most compassionate care from extremely empathetic interns along with their vigilant supervising attendings. Hope you like open ended questions and doctors listening to you bc you’re gonna drown in it.
Improve resident wellness.
Mandatory wellness days off. Required time for health (dentists, Pap smears, annual check ups). Therapy outside of typical business hours. Increased pay. Affordable childcare.
Create a space for residents to live more like their non-medical peers.
Time to bust some anti-union myths 😉
Hospitals love to use the same half-truths & misinformation to stop residents from unionizing. Why? B/c they know we can’t find a different job like other workers & want to keep using us as cheap labor & maximize profits.
So listen up 🧵↓
