@harveyfischer99 the ability to take a photo of handwritten maths and have it tell you where you went wrong is nuts. that’s probably 1/3rd of my usage, the rest is making lecture slides more legible
The left wing case against sanctions has always baffled me. It's basically arguing that the right to free trade and exchange should not be constrained by political or moral qualms. At least the libertarians are consistent in this!
@nothofagusfan53 legit it’s just uploading the slides into context and working through it all. feels like faux-oxford one on one style but it’s working alright so far
@tymofii no i literally use it to generate questions for me and mark my answers. best to treat it like you’re in session with a tutor after having done the readings
@theloneamigo@YacobFox the tricky part of the “bang for buck” approach is capability isn’t marginal but more whole of force with trade offs within the structure
Why not spend a fraction of the AUKUS subs budget on diplomacy instead of transferring billions of taxpayer dollars to US and UK arms manufacturers to contain and confront our most important economic partner?
A ridiculous proposal I know, still ...
@theloneamigo@YacobFox to an extent but australia’s force structure is centred around interoperability with allies. tanks are a small “nice to have” capability retained by the adf but most spending is going into air and sea assets which in any realistic scenario will be alongside us/japan
@harveyfischer99 it’s probably latter. i’m purely doing it for professional upskilling and in this day and age I myself aren’t even sure if it’s worth it with ai
doing proper hard maths study as an adult is just fucked. basically my entire education was writing (mostly bullshit) now i’m doing cross pice slutsky decompositions
