@ShanePaisios@CovenantedOne@TRejectedNotion Absolutely right, it should be viewed as a hospital! But wouldn't it be best if Jay took some time away from the internet to focus on becoming more Christ-like? I mean if your eye causes you to stumble, better to pluck it out. I also think 1 Cor 13 is applicable
@Bas3dPhilosophy@TRejectedNotion@CovenantedOne True, but if many of the (predominantly) young men look to model themselves after Jay, wouldn't that will just perpetuate the problem? Behavior and culture is often imitated, and I fear what could happen if this becomes a dominant stream within Orthodoxy
@itsyoboinarza@blkknightRC@MethodMinistry While I truly understand what you are saying, I have seen a number of self professing Orthodox individuals making salvation judgments online. Perhaps they are catecumens, or just caught in the heat of the moment, but it does (regrettably) happen
@fistofnicaea@MikeWingerii That's unfortunate. I did see a number of Protestants rebuking that nonsense. But I do agree that there are bad faith actors everywhere. I think that there isn't enough Christ-like love, gentleness, and respect in people's interactions anymore
@becomelutheran@megievalist First I've heard of this! Most Greek scholars I knew used the NASB or ESV as their choice Bible. My brain has a hard time with the NKJV as well, so I tend to shy away from it
@BMcGrewvy What I don't understand is why they don't administer cyanide or something that kills nearly instantly. Also, public executions probably are a good deterrent, although I wouldn't have the stomach for such things
