After Hurricane Maria, Dominica 🇩🇲 saw a big jump in invasive species like the Green Iguana and Cuban Treefrog 🦎🐸.
They came in through aid shipments after the storm and are now threatening native wildlife.
It’s a strong reminder that after disasters like Hurricane Melissa, we must include biosecurity in our recovery plans.
Protecting wildlife protects our islands. 💚🇯🇲

Hi @darylvazmp@DaytonCampbell
There is a 9 month pregnant mother in Neworks Westmoreland, who is currently living in a minivan with her two children. Her name is Crystal and she is due any day now 🥲 and urgently needs assistance.
Jamaica ! Help still needed ! A group of us local obgyns will be travelling to the rural and hardest hit areas to conduct antenatal assessments for the pregnant women !!
I am so glad someone with her platform made this video.
Because the one roof I saw intact in salt spring had the J anchor bolt and I just wish more people knew how important it is.
The historic Westwood High School for Girls in Stewart Town, Trelawny, was damaged by Hurricane Melissa — several dorms and parts of the walls were destroyed.
Many students were also affected at home. Please help in any way you can. 💛💚

🚨 SIGNAL BOOST❗️
A family friend is in search of her father. His name is Henry Colquhoun, popularly known as Babu. He lives in Cool Retreat, New Market, St. Elizabeth.
Any information or a retweet would be appreciated 🙏🏾🇯🇲
Our birds have been hit hard by Hurricane Melissa. 💔
If someone told me they saw Jamaican parakeets eating cane and even grass stems, I wouldn’t have believed them — or that I could get so close to these wild birds.
They’re clearly stressed and trying to survive. Please give them a break and don’t try to capture them.
Share your wildlife observations and photos with @RoostersWorldja 🇯🇲💚
