What we need from you now is compliance and sensitivity to your mother's pain. Don't speak of your own; it's not what matters and it hurts her. https://t.co/JAwy9DtZeT
@NYadoptee @adopteemerch You're talking about starting a dialogue without asking those of us expected to carry that dialogue, and smashing adoption back into our faces in public. It's just as triggering as 'adoption rocks' and more painful since we're expected to support it.
@theTravisCotton @zumbanatalieuk @neithskye@jonnymcg@AtheistRepublic You're not hearing what I'm saying, and I, like you, have little interest in repeating myself.
It's not a little club. It's a large group of traumatized people trying to come to terms with fundamental abandonment and rejection. Like Jill said, I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
@theTravisCotton @zumbanatalieuk @neithskye@jonnymcg@AtheistRepublic Don't think that we don't understand why people adopt. Understand why we, adult Adoptees who have lived this since infancy, KNOW being adopted is NOT a good thing.
@theTravisCotton @neithskye@jonnymcg@AtheistRepublic Adoption is dedicated in trauma and loss to an infant. The infant only knows its mother is gone and some stranger is holding it. Infants don't want strangers, they want their mothers, regardless of circumstance. Babies aren't blank slates.
@neithskye @theTravisCotton @jonnymcg@AtheistRepublic All adoption is based in loss and trauma to an infant. In order for a family to be "built through adoption" another family must be destroyed. This in and of itself is inherently bad.
Your argument is based in flawed data.

@neithskye @theTravisCotton @jonnymcg@AtheistRepublic I was eight months old when they changed my name. I knew my name! I knew who my father was! I fought the adopters until I was three or four years old and I figured out my adoptress would hurt me if I didn't respond to that name. We lose nothing my ass. Babies aren't blank slates.
